Hmm, the UK opening is very good, but not absolutely amazing since it likely includes some previews. I am not even that sure about it pasing £50 million and beating Half-Blood Prince. Might do it, but only by very little.

I don't think they had any previews in the UK. I didn't see any advertised.

Sorcerer's Stone ($14.5m, Sat. opener), Chamber of Secrets ($16.7m, Sat. opener), Prisoner of Azkaban ($16.2m, Sat. opener), and Order of the Phoenix ($17m, Fri. opener) all opened higher during the weekend in USD. It is higher than Goblet of Fire ($11.4m, Fri. opener) and Half-Blood Prince ($10.3m, Wed. opener) though.
Not to bring down the opening, it's the second biggest of the year and will give the franchise at least another $80 million grosser in the market, but the statement about it being the biggest opening for the franchise couldn't be more wrong. Looks like the turnaround in Japan is not gonna happen with the opening like this. Holiday's legs should push it above HP6 though i think/.

That's not a shocker. Resident Evil opened on Tuesday, and the "weekend" number in fact included all 6 days, not to mention it is a popular franchise in China.

The previous one-day record was POA's holiday £5.2m, if Sunday was a mere £0.2m higher, all three days would have beaten this record. I guess it still could with actuals. So yeah, this was probably one of the most impressive openings.

Far out, that's pretty awesome. All 3 days breaking the record and that tiny Sunday drop (assuming Saturday number stayed the same).

Okay, in that case (no previews) that is of course terrific. Still won't get to 60 million, but 50 million should be a done deal.

AUSTRALIA (AUD$) - Opening Weekend
HP7-I continues the streak of each successive Potter flick grossing more than the last. Potter now holds 3 positions inside the Top 10 and all but the first movie inside the Top 20. HP7-I debut knocks ROTK out of the Top 10 and Spiderman out of the Top 20.
This landed smack bang where i thought it would be after the opening day. At this rate, we can be almost assured that the final installment (with 3D) will easily claim the #1 opening weekend title next year.

It's the 9th biggest in local currency, and it's a little disappointing.

CEZCH REPUBLIC - Opening Weekend
Knocks it out of the park here with the largest opening weekend of all-time. Raising it by a staggering $500k. Very strong year for openings with foreigners and locals alike performing brilliantly.

"On Monday, Warner claimed Deathly Hallows was the biggest Harry Potter of all time. "Comparing apples to apples, the same set of territories, for the industry defined weekend for each market, Deathly Hallows far out-grossed Half Blood Prince excluding any sneaks," said the company"

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-1: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
GERMANY - Opening Weekend
After a disasterous year in Germany BO, HP7-I put some much needed heat back into proceedings. Between HP and LOTR, they have a stranglehold on the top 5 largest openings in US$.
Opening was down on admissions over the regular 4-Day frame, but hit out with 2m+ overall by Sunday. Good effort.
Harry Potter 6: HBP - $23,845,427 (€16.4m/ 1.844.184 adms. 4-Day - 831 TC) Lord Of The Rings: ROTK - $23,248,457 (€18,819,626/ 2.666.776 adms. 5-Day or $17,750,498/ 2.050.776 adms. 4-Day - 1337 TC) or $22,565,499 Actuals Harry Potter 7-1: DH - $23,015,184 (2.053.245 adms. or $19,992,233/ 1.768.932 adms. 4-Day - 904 TC) Harry Potter 4: GOF - $21,653,719 (€18,497,906/ 2,685,158 adms. incl. p/v - 1243 TC) Lord Of The Rings: TTT - $19.8m (€19.4m/ 2.634.701 adms. 5-Day or $15.2m/ €14,918,968/ 2.021.239 adms. 4-Day - 1266 TC) Harry Potter 5: OOTP - $19,308,800 (€14,080,331/ 2,086,806 adms. 5-Day or 1,682,806 adms. 4-Day - 982 TC/1300p) Star Wars 3: ROTS - $17,791,749 (€13,614,242/ 1.964.960 adms. 4-Day - 1182 TC) Pirates Of The Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest - $17,340,730 (€13,583,514/ 1,924,778 adms. - 1330 TC) Ice Age 2: The Meltdown - $17,149,317 (€14,157,790/ 2,395,588 adms. - 1061 TC) The Twilight Saga: New Moon - $16,647,910 (incl. $3.8m/ 380,000 adms. p/v - 703 TC) Pirates Of The Caribbean 3: At World’s End - $16,576,890 (1,860,775 adms. - 975 TC/1585p) Harry Potter 2: COS - $16.28m (€16,175,918/ 2.489.952 adms. - 1249 TC) Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs - $16,228,605 (861 TC) (T)Raumschiff Surprise: Periode 1 - $15,832,093 (€13,064,093/ 2.164.909 adms. - 899 TC) Harry Potter 3: POA - $15,273,992 (€12,477,782/ 1.987.285 adms. - 1204 TC) James Bond: Quantum Of Solace - $14,884,633 (1109 TC) Harry Potter 1: PS - $14.8m (€16,666,356/ 2.590.464 adms. - 1226 TC) Lord Of The Rings: FOTR - $14.7m (€16.5m/ 2.239.864 adms. 5-Day or ~$12m/€13,526,170/ 1.813.898 adms. 4-Day - 1070 TC)
CIS (Russia) - Opening Weekend
Growth in this market on openings have been insane, look at where HP3 is vs. HP7-I is now. Each Potter has benefitted from a growing market.
Wasn't able to crack the top 10, but sits very close. 4th largest of 2010.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-1: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
First number from France (just Paris)
HP 3 : 15 528 (Paris) // 32 000 (Paris + suburbs) HP 4 : 15 320 // 35 021 HP 2 : 12 625 // 27 893 HP 5 : 12 013 // 32 356 HP 6 : 10 178 // 31 747 HP 1 : 10 649 // 23 276 HP7P1 : 8 141 // ??????
Not huge... the worst score of the saga, it's not even the best start of the year (Shrek 4)!
