We actually have 13 year olds on this site (possibly some younger), and none are offended by the F-word, unless they're shy to say it. Infact, I've seen a few of them use the F-word. Impact, it might affend you, but we're not going to restrict it like BOM would.

I look at it like this. This is the internet, and the world doesn't have to cater their language to please any sensitive groups. It's not like anybody is saying "you're a fucking idiot". That would be understandable to be offended by, but if somebody says "that was a great fucking movie" , the sensitive types need to get over it. I don't see people really going out of their way to be vulgar and use that word every other word. If it really bothers anybody THAT much, log off the internet, or find a good christian forum to post at. (or BOM, I hear they really need members who care to post there, and members who believe in censorship \:D/)

My suggestion is you offer a final solution to Impact, and close the thread so that no more immaturity (especially from me) is posted in this particular thread, which is innocently enough trying to be serious by the thread creator, Impact. Look if someone is uncomfortable than you don't have to change your ways, but lets not go out of the way to be more obnoxious. Impact, when we started this site we made the decision not all profanity was all that profane, and that people would monitor their own use of language. I for one am much more sensetive to context and content than to form. Hence the reason we decided someone saying WTF, this movie ruled, is not offensive at all, but saying you f****ing wh))), go to hell is (unless its a total random joke from TonyMontana, who doesn't actually ever joke like that, hence the reason I singled him out). Anyways, for that reason I also think their are completely offensive sayings without said profanity words. Where do we draw the line then? Form, content, context? Where. We ultimately opted to allow users to do as they deem fit thinking most people are mature and can handle their own mouths and minds. If you are uncomfortable with it the best you can do is lead by example. There is an infinte list of people here who rarely use swear words and are never offensive. Just hang out and enjoy their posts. Also realize a majority of the vulgarity you are uncomfortable with is in the Water cooler, so perhaps check out the other forums more.

Other than that if you notice something that has really crossed the line in all three (form, content, and context), just pm the moderator of that forum, or the admin and let them know. We'll look into it.

Dang it, Dolce! Always upstaging me! :wink: Looks like it's one of those situations you need to handle accordingly when it becomes a serious problem. I do not agree with Impact, but I understand where he is coming from in all of this. But, it's obviously not a majority opinion. My only real suggestion to Impact is to not take it so seriously when some proclaims a movie is so f'ing good, but when the "f" word (or any extremely vulgar language) is used in a hurtful manner or in a distasteful manner, that's when action should be taken. Not much else to do, or you may set off a second version of Mojo (or a mirror of Mojo, if you will), which is certainly bad.

This is completly ridiculous the way some of you are acting, totally disrespectful towards Impact, i really dont care if you guys are having "fun", its just wrong, he just had an simple suggestion.
