In all seriousness though, Thomas is off to a fantastic start that no one saw or could've seen coming. In five games he's given up three goals, won the starting job back from Rask, and is the first Bruin since Tiny Thompson in 1937 to win his first five starts.

I thought he played well last year, no?

He didn't play horribly or anything (though not like the year before) but Rask played out of his mind (1.99 GAA vs. 2.56) and won it from him. I think everyone was sold on the fact that Rask was the new #1 and since Thomas is 36 everyone thought he was expendable. It's just five games so far, but I'm sure as hell glad we kept him.

I'm sure he'll suck later this year. Don't worry.
