Jesus, this site is painfully fucking SLOW..
I'm not sure WHY this website is so slow when it comes to posting threads or simple posts, but Christ Almighty.. I could go shave and shower and come back and it would still be waiting to postr the thread.. What gives?? Are they doing work on this site or are there just too many posters on here right now slowing it down?? I have DSL and on any other site I go to, it's super fast, but not KJ.. Anyone else have this problem??

Well hold on there. I was feeling similar, frustrated it was so slow but you just pointed out a great side effect. Eagle, if this slow server encourages bkb to go afk and clean up more often, then delay the switch to a faster server.

I'm operating with Charter Cable DSL That's fast as lightening on any other website I go to, but Christ, if this website isn't slow as molasses in posting something which is unusual cause normally, it isn't like this.. Makes me wonder if it's because too many posters are logged onto this site that's slowing it down??? I do notice that alot of posters don't log off when there finished here for whatever reason, I can't figure this out., but who knows??

Guys, we just bought a new server on Sunday when the server crashed. We have too many people now, and the server we are on can't support it. We are sharing a serving, so if everyone is on the server at the same time, the site will go painfully slow. But, once we get on the new server (our very own) this week, it will go incredibly fast. Gaurantee it. Just hold on a few days.

Update:
Just got an email from our new host. Our server is ready, they are installing php, webadmin, and a few other programs to the server, then I will get my welcome email. That means that this afternoon I will go ahead and begin loading all the files to the new site, after that I will do the forum. Hopefully by 10pm tonight everything will be setup, at that time I will go ahead and contact the global registry and have them link the domain http://www.worldofkj.com to the new IP.
Once that is done. The site will be up and running on the new server in around 24-48 hours. Unfourtunatly all posts from sometime today until then will likly be lost. You will still be able to post, and the forum will be alive, but the posts will likely not be transfered ... I could be wrong on that ... wait and see.
I will keep you all updated.

I wasn't kidding in the chat Sunday night when I said I'd help fund KJ....and I'm sure many people share the same sentiments...

If a few Star Trek fans can donate millions of dollars to try to keep Enterprise on the air, I'm sure there are KJ fans who don't live in their parents basement who will donate $$

Since everyone is asking ... I might as well tell you all what it is going to cost.
It will run a 10$ initial setup fee and 75$ per month thereafter.

That actually is more than my life! But, it could have been far less, and still reached that amount.

The average DVD costs $14.99.
The average cost for some foooooood from a fast food restaurant is around $4.00-5.00 bucks (depending on your hunger).
We have around 100 normal users, and another 200 users that use the site but not to the full extent. If the 100 normal users each chip in $5 bucks towards a website they use for hours and hours of entertainment and bringing movie fans close together (not to mention helping out a college student who is about to pay around $900 to let us have that freedom of entertainment), we'll pay for 55% of KJ's costs for the website.
Come on KJers, donate for the site. It's worth it.

DAMN IT! I said not to, Arsi. Now I will feel guilty if I don't get Paypal. But, it involves credit cards, and there's this whole big deal on credit cards, no matter how safe it is. Bah, forget it. If I can, I will. I owe a lot to KJ, for so many reasons. Some reasons that others don't quite express. So, I'll do my best.

I mean in general.
Credit cards are unsafe because people wish to make you believe it so they can charge you more for other services to provide you with antitheft. Its also a great way to get people to sign up with your company.
Credit cards as just about as safe as any other medium and in some ways, even more.

That's like saying airplanes are safer than cars. Sure, there are less airplane "accidents" (doesn't quite sound appropriate for a plane going down), but if it happens, you're screwed. At least you got a better chance to live through a car wreck.

Jesus Christ. Mr. X, if you have a problem with PayPal, send KJ a damn check! If you do, though, you have to pay triple.
