Predators had much worst marketing and managed 25 million opening. It's tv spots are effective and I don't know anyone that doesn't want to see it. Can't wait for Friday 50+ opening is what I'm hoping for.

I'm gonna guess this makes more than Predators.

I'm going with 5 people on Friday, then a family party and another 10+ Saturday night.

I'm really surprised your not on board with this film, its an 80s revival and you still live in the 80s as international numbers and DVD sales mean nothing to you. I don't spin, I offer fact, if a film makes profits, how exactly is that spinning. I still love how disappointing the gross for Casino Royale was for you, and how wonderful Hulks was.

I just can't see this movie doing less than Predators OW. Like someone else has said it had a crap marketing campaign and was released in only 2,600 theatres. And lets not forget the biggest problem of all it came directly after that shitfest known as AVPR. Even with all of this gonig against it is still managed a $25M OW. There is alot more positives going for TE eventhough it's tracking weak with teen males there are more than enough adults males excited for this thing to push it over $30M. TE is the REAL action movie of the summer fans have been waiting for.

Well considering what most blockbusters have grossed in 1 weekend this summer, if this doesn't gross at least 70 Million OW, then I'd have to declare it a disappointment based on how much this cost to make, the salaries involved with the cast(though the 2nd and 3rd tier actors are probably just happy to have work) and the fanboy hype for it..

The budget is under 80 million. Stallone kept it tight and used almost all practical effects.

I know you're an idiot, and I shouldn't bother explaining, but whatever: only three films this summer opened to $70m or more (Shrek, Iron Man and Toy Story). Also, no one considers this a blockbuster.

Seriously, this just has to hit 55 million total to be considered a success, as it'll still hit over 200 WW, I think this has an outside shot at 300 WW and being one of the big success stories of the year. One thing that is guaranteed is a big overseas gross. I mean Stallone's films in his prime would be in the 250-300 overseas on his own today. Add in Jet Li, Statham, and soft August for big overseas grosses, it could do gangbuster numbers.
