You know... it kinda worked.

Gamer - C

Interesting story but the direction of it was messy. The camera was all over the place, quick editing and the last act was a mess.

Pandorum - B

Good film. I enjoyed the story and direction. It was very intense and scary at times. It was a bit slow developing in the beginning but it did keep my attention. Ben Foster was exceptional. Dennis Quaid was good too. I didn't see that end coming. The final few scenes was a bit surprising because it leaves you wondering how these people are going to survive due to

District B13 - A

I liked the action and the music used with it. The story was entertaining and kept my attention. The last 15 minutes were a bit so so with the other plot, but overall I enjoyed it.

The Mutant Chronicles - B

A friend bought this and I watched it today. It has a very grainy feel to it and lots of green screen I guess. I did like the action and the overall plot. The story kept my attention here as well and I was never bored with it. Not a big fan of Thomas Jane but he was sufficient here. Decent flick.

Ong Bak 2 - D

I don't get it. I shut off this movie 1 hour into it. It just wasn't going anywhere. It wasn't interesting. The fights weren't even that compelling to me. The whole elephant scene was ridiculous. I think I'll be skipping everything else with Tony Jaa. Sorry.

The House of the Devil - C

First, this is a very Slow movie. It takes awhile before something really surprising happens. Then we get in the house and even then it's like having a conversation with someone who doesn't talk. Nothing is happening. It goes all out at the end but it's much to little to late.

XIII - C

For some reason, during the scene with the meeting in the factory I had a feeling of deja vu. I felt like I had watched a scene just like that one in another movie or from 24. It just seemed very familiar to me. Anyway, the movie has it's moments. There are some action sequences in it. It kind of reminded me of a bit of Bourne Identity, 24, and Vantage Point.

The Hurt Locker - A

Finally got to watch this today and I guess it lives up to the hype. It was very intense at times while not being boring though I was getting tired towards the very end. I thought Renner and Mackie did very good jobs with their performances. Actually, the whole cast was very good and it was cool since more well known actors in smaller roles with limited screen time. That added to the quality of the picture I thought. The shooting of the picture seemed very real or presented one that way. It didn't seem fake is what I mean. I think it's a very good Iraq war themed film. It's not my favorite film of the year but I do think it was one of the top ones now.

In the Bedroom - A

I've seen it before but I needed to burn time today while working. This is a great movie to me. The acting is impeccable imo. Spacek and Wilkinson are marvelous. There's so much emotion flowing through them without them outwardly expressing it. In addition, this movie was getting me teary eyed multiple times up to and a bit after the event. I just find this film very impressive. After viewing Spacek's performance it makes want to check out Monster's Ball again to review Halle Berry's that year too.

She's Out of My League - B

I like seeing Jay Baruchel in movies. He plays the average joe, nerdy type guy. He's easy to relate to. This movie is going to diddly at the BO but it's an enjoyable flick. It started off boring and slow to me but as he and the hot girl got paired together more and more and did things together it got very interesting and fun. The movie has a few funny moments and one especially outrageous moment (very outrageous), but hilarious. There were a couple of Cloverfield guys in this and Krysten Ritter is especially hot. Idk where I've seen her from but she was yum yum. Overall, fun movie enjoyed it. Check it out, it's generic but fun.

The Invention of Lying - A

This is a really good comedy. I like Gervais and his style of speech, humor, presentation and all that. He's quite a good character. I liked the plot and story. Jennifer Garner played her part very well. She was very genuine. The opening 15-20 minutes is extremely hilarious and it kind of slows down in the 3rd part of the film but I still enjoyed it overall. Finally, I wish Gervais's films would connect with the general public because he really is a good comic actor.

Fellini shines with this film! It's either a 9 or a perfect 10.

Forrest Gump

The movie is an A of course, but I'm listening to it for the commentary and let me tell you how boring it is. There are three people chatting including the director and 30 minutes into the movie it sounds like they should be writing a paper on the feelings and character development of Forrest Gump. There hasn't been much discussion on particular scenes or interesting tid bits/info about the filmmaking or the actors. This is wearing me out.

I'll try to endure and see if it improves...

Gangs of New York

Movie is an A again. I appreciated it more after seeing a few times on tv. The Scorcese commentary is actually pretty interesting and detailed. He really gets into the historical background of the film. He goes into good dept about DDL and talks of Diaz and Dicaprio a bit.

There's Something About Mary

Again an A comedy here. The Farrelly brothers did a good job with their commentary. They commented on most of the actors as they appeared and specific scenes. They apparently love to use people they know in real life in their films and get them roles if they can fit them in.

I'm listening to the Anchorman dvd commentary and they've spent 10+ minutes talking about literally nothing. They are just commenting about swear words and what kind of things they can say on the uncensored commentary. This is so lame.

Tropic Thunder - A. of course

I just listened to the cast commentary and it was Downey, Black and Stiller and this was one of the most funny commentaries I've had the pleasure of hearing.

Downey was in character from the start then switched to his next character then finally himself at the end. Black was really enjoying the show and jumping in here and there. Stiller tried to make it all about the movie in the beginning but just went with the flow about 10 minutes in. He really cut some gold that could have easily been part of the theatrical film.

I agree on YIR. That was disappointing, but I have high hopes for Scott Pilgrim.

Currently watching Shallow Hal.

Listening to the commentary by the Farrelly bros. I really think they should have cast commentaries on their dvds because all they seem to talk about is Every Single Actor/Walk On in their film. If it's not a friend, it's a new amazing talent or remarkable actress. They really seem to kiss up everything. Sometimes they'll throw in a interesting tid bit but mostly they just seem to name everybody on screen and how they know them/gave them the role.

As for the film, it's still a B
