My thoughts:
- Salma Hayek was stunning =P~
- Catalina Sandeno Moreno was gorgeous
- Cate "the goddess" Blanchett lived up to that moniker :mirrorbow:
- Chris Rock was better than I expected and was actually rather tame after the beginning. I especially liked his segment with the theatre goers, though it seemed entirely out of place for an Oscar telecast.
- The massive fears I had about the new format of nominees on-stage and presentations in the crowd were somewhat allayed, though I still find it somewhat demeaning. =;
- Almost all the speeches were dull and boring. Foxx's was nice, but recycled and Swank's was the absolute worst of the night ](*,)
- Sean Penn is a total jackass
- Marty snubbed once again was upsetting [-(
As a parting gift, I present to you the lovely Salma Hayek.

I'll give you one guess how I'm feeling. \:D/

Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry, Pierre
This was a good win and it was funny how Charlie Kaufman looked so small that he was hidden by the microphone.
---------
And congrats to
Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role
Cate Blanchett for The Aviator (2004)
Let's all give a hand to some left-over ROTK Oscar love - he he - just joking - but it is still all good.

On Eastwood wins, I am wondering if he got any bonus points from the voters from Mystic River last year which lost to the ROTK steamroller.
I would love to know how much he won over Scorcese - who had to have some fans wanting to break his O wins Oscar streak.

It was a great night for MDB. Yeah some of the speeches were boring and long. Sean Penn sucks!

I was probably the most happy person ever last night, all my predictions were not only predictions, but they were what i WANTED to win also.....Best Actor for Jamie Foxx in Ray, Best Director and Best Picture and Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor for Clint, Hilary and Morgan in Million Dollar Baby and a few for Aviator......all i can say is; FUCK YES!!!!!!!
Sideways, Spiderman 2 and lemony got one each, but thats only one, didnt bother me at all. I'm really glad that The Incredibles got TWO!!!!!!!!
The best Oscar's since 1977!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderfully happy for Million Dollar Baby, i didn't expect it to get best picture (but hoped it would), second year in a row the one i wanted to win did, hurrah! SO pleased and surprised that Morgan Freeman won, and of course the wonderful Hilary Swank,
But i am equally pleased for The Incredibles, second best pic of 2004, behind M$B... I cheered when it won a second award (but then i was quite drunk/tired by then... the awards finished at 5am here)

I corectly predicted 16/24 categories...not bad i guess. I should've gotten 18 though, i went with what i thought woul win, except for 2 categories, both of which i missed.
Best Director.
Best Supp. actor (stupidest prediction! but i went with the SAG cant match oscar 4/4 thing)
Best Original Song (is this the first time a foreign song has won?)
best sound editing
best makeup (I correctly predicted Passion not getting it, but i went with sea inside)
And
Best Documentary short (the other one i didnt with my insitcnt on)
Best Animated short
And Best Live Action Short
tohse are so obscure though...

Goldie, is it okay that I ask you not bump up any of your "old" threads? It's just that we're in the thick of the new award season and I don't want current threads pushed off the page.
Thanks.
