The Cinemascore for Inception should be very alarming. Even though under-25 awards it an A-, the over-25 gave it a B-, which points to horrible legs from that demographic. I feel like the WOM and appeal for this movie is really demographic-dependent, with males in my age group and younger almost all loving the movie and will see it multiple times, but for other demographics it's another A.I./Vanilla Sky (bad).

As people who participate in online movie forums and do lots of reading/writing, we are the film's main target audience. This movie also appeals to our circle of friends as they most likely share common interests and possess a similar intellect level. But other groups of people will not like this type of movie will tell their similar-minded friends how confusing and non-enjoyable it is.

Because the older demographics are usually the ones that help the legs of the film, I don't see superb legs for this movie. The legs won't be as bad as Fight Club's, but now having seen the movie, I do not believe it will be able to crossover to enough demographics for a -40% 2nd weekend drop.

Your statement about a B- isn't quite correct. What I saw is the over 50 demographic gave it a B-. Over 25 gave it a B. Newsflash: The Prestige had a B overall and a 3.5 something multiplier. CinemaScore doesn't always tell the tale on legs. Shutter Island had a C+ and damn good legs.

Parse the movie's mildly positive B-plus rating, and you find that the under-25s awarded it an A-minus, the 25-and-overs a B-minus — which on CinemaScore's generous bell curve is nearly a failing grade.

Hopefully they reported it wrong and you are right that it's only B and not B-, I want this movie to be successful as possible for the sake of the quality of future movies to be greenlit by movie studios. Shutter Island's legs is actually worse than Fight Club's legs, so I already thought its legs will be better than Fight Club's, but I don't think it will reach the 4.0-5.8x legs some are expecting.
