 Predators
Predators Quote: Predators is a 2010 American science-fiction horror film directed by Nimród Antal, and starring Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Danny Trejo and Derek Mears as the "Classic Predator". The film is a sequel to Predator (1987) and Predator 2 (1990). Producer Robert Rodriguez stated that he named the film "Predators" in relation to how the second film in the Alien franchise was called Aliens. The title Predators is intended to have a double meaning, in that it refers to both the film's alien creatures, as well as the group of humans who are going against them.

 Re: Predators
From a non-fan of these types of movies:
Good first half that unraveled in the last half with drawn out or unnecessary scenes. A 1 hour and 45 minutes movie that felt more like 3 hours when the film ended.
5.5/10

 Re: Predators
Solid if a little underwhelming (the fight scenes were kinda lame, pretty much no memorable kills). The nods to the original was a nice touch, especially the music. 7/10

 Re: Predators
Adrien Brody just isn't the type of guy I want to see in a movie like this. Beside that, I really liked the first half, was bored to death in the middle (when Fishburne appeared) and was entertained again in the final third. Still, this could have been so much cooler and better. B

 Re: Predators
I liked it!
Predators didn't set it's sights too high - - with it's basic sci-fi premise "dropping in", a pleasantly retro stereotypical team, and a steady hand on the FX faucet giving us a good blast now and then - - it turns out to be a drop dead reliable b-movie franchise ignitor!
Very nicely done.
4 out of 5.

Siiike, but it was pretty awesome.
Topher Grace was hilarious. "Yep, 5:00, bitch raping time."

 Re: Predators
This was a really good movie that I feel was equally as good as the 1st PREDATOR from 1987.. Saw the late show last night which I'm not used to and only saw a midnight show 1 other time and that was the god awful PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, but wanted to see it with the right crowd so to speak.. Needless to say, Black people talk way too much during movies and while I did think this movie was every bit as good as the 87 movie, I'd like to see it again, this time at a matinee with a different audience that won't talk as much..
Things I dug about PREDATORS:
1) The premise: I'm sitting here trying to think of a different scenario this movie could've gone that would've pleased people more on the net and the more I think about it, the more I know no one would've been happy and would've bitched about it either way no matter what Rodriguez came up with..
2) PREDATOR HOUNDS: Pretty cool and automatically makes me want to make a thread about which is more ridiculous?? HULK DOGS VS PREDATOR DOGS?? But they did serve their purpose..
3) The Violence: Much much better than many have mentioned about the AVP movies, despite me whoring the hell out of them, this was nice to actually see this an R-Rated movie going back the basics, it's roots the way it was meant to be.. Perhaps the problem with the ALIEN VS PREDATOR Movies is that every fan has a different scenario as to how THEY as the fans want the plot to go and when that didn't happen with either 2 movies, they backlashed it to death, OR the concept only looks good on paper and should've been left well enough alone perhaps???
Things I didn't Like:
The running time: It should've been 20 minutes longer, but maybe FOX is saving that for some stupid "Unrated Edition" on Blu-Ray and DVD???
Overall, despite ribbing on Brody and Eric Forman beforehand, I give this a solid "B".. Definitely worth seeing again and probably would've been an "A" if the black people upfront would've shutup long enough and turned off their cell phones to enjoy it more..

F.
My god this was easily one of the worst pieces of garbage i've ever seen in my life.
the samurai fight scene against the predator with the music was easily the worst scene of all time of any film ever.
just brutal in every way possible. Topher Grace was the only good thing about this film. Morpheous should have been in the film longer as well

 Re: Predators
No Predator, but its a very fun film for the most part. All the actors were actually good, with Brody being the most surprising. Fishburne's character was cool for about 3 minutes, but after he takes a nap its terrible and I would have rather his character was out of the film entirely. All and all, I wish the film took its time like with the first half of the film as it was kind of jumbled at the end. I'm definitely down for a sequel though. We need to change the formula a little bit though. I would love a sequel that somehow had some human characters with the Predator technology hunting Predators for a change. Could be an interesting film.
Solid B+

 Re: Predators
It's ultimately fairly disposable but Predators is slick and fast-paced entertainment. The unfortunately named Nimrod Antal orchestrates bloody fun action scenes that keep the film moving. A buffed-up Adrien Brody makes for a surprisingly effective badass, while Topher Grace is on hand for some low-key comic relief and Alice Braga is fine as the sole woman in the picture. B

Solid B+ I've given thought to your idea Gun and after reading it, I have to ask if the threat against the humans would be evident in the sequel given that your basically using the PREDATORS Technology to hunt against them?? Would there be a bigger threat to up the ante in the sequel based on this??? I'd see it for sure, but not sure where else they go in a sequel that hasn't already been done and complained about in this movie: Everyone bellyached about how the "Reboot" didn't offer anything new and was a been there, done that sort of thing.. What'd everyone expect?? I will definitely be proud to own this one on DVD when it comes out(and that scene folks complained about involving the multiple PREDATOR Targets being displayed on Brody in the TV Spots not being in the movie, will probably be on DVD.. Perhaps either incorporated back in the movie or as Deleted Scenes..

Anyways, back on topic, does one have to see any of the previous Predator movies to see this one?

 Re: Predators
Predators is one of the weakest excuses for a horror or action film in at least the past few years. The entire cast does not fit the bill here including the ridiculous nonsense acting from Topher Grace and Adrien Brody. The predators seem overdone and their stealth mode and invisibility act becomes all too boring and predictable. In fact the entire film is predictable from start to finish. Using accelerating music or complete moments of silence makes each supposed "scary" moment, useless and not scary at all. Also the samurai fighting and Laurence Fishburne's scenes have to be some of the worst scenes in recent memory. This film demonstrates the lack of the good action and horror film Hollywood can make today. No Stars

I agree about Topher Grace - - I can't believe that no-talent hasn't faded from view yet. But I did enjoy the rest of the cast, though I thought Laurence Fishburne was wasted.

I'm growing a little weary of these reviews that say how predictable the movie is.. What did you expect from a movie that's paying homage to the 1987 movie??? You say the PREDATORS are overdone.. That's how they are, that's how they have been for what?? 25 years or more since the original and now your bitching about it??? WTF?? That's the problem with movies like this and characters like this: You can't please everyone and in no way could they make a movie that everyoone would agree on with this character.. It's impossible, but 1 thing this movie does accomplish is making it a very good followup to the original and how any so called "fan" could be disappointed by that borders on nitpickiness at this point..
