The tracking is suggesting a somewhat weak opening for the movie (based on historical RS/MTC patterns), but the buzz is gaining momentum in multiple domains. Months ago, I thought this would be a joke destined to bomb, but I no longer believe that.

Re: PREDATORS>INCEPTION: Summer OWNAGE At It's Finest Bitches Since there isn't a thread for this in the Critic thread, I thought I'd give everyone a mini-review of the movie. Take this review for what it's worth.
As a non-fan of the series, I honestly didn't know what to expect going into Predators except aliens/guns.
First half: Very good. Funny and sets up the premise well.
Second half: Starts to get boring. Too many drawn out scenes that could have been cut/reduced. This movie is only 1 hour and 40 minutes long and I felt like I was in the theater for more than 3 hours by the end of the movie.
Grade: 5.5/10 (which isn't half bad since I practically have no interest whatsoever in this movie)

The only problem that I saw in second half was that all the scenes are "been there done that before" there is nothing new. First half is where the movie excels since that kind of movie making has been lost for sometime now.
Not as low as 5.5 because even though the second half was bad (specially the scenes with Laurence Fishburne) it wasn't draggy and the end was ok but there were a lot of setup scenes which did not come out as expected. It could have been better is what I think still the movie itself is not dissatisfying and actually better than any of the action movies and/or thriller movies this summer (dare I say including IM2). 7/10
