 Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
I liked the visual effects and make up in this film. HBC was fantastic as the red queen. She really hammed it up. I love hearing her say alot of those lines. "I love my fat boys." "Off with their Heads!" I thought the final battle sequence was pretty exciting. Alice fighting the jaberwocky was cool. Depp was colorful as the Mad Hatter. Overall, I thought it was a pretty nice film. Oh, the cat was great too.

Burton's Alice in unholy in every way imaginable. Johnny Depp should refrain from working with him, or from playing o-look-how-odd-i-am characters.

B-
I actually rewatched this last weekend at home, and as someone said here, the film gave me a new positive air, enjoyable, but actually the end lacks of sense (the final battle scene is too fast), but not a bad movie at all

I still love this movie. I recognize its flaws (the dance...oh, no...), of course, but I just find the experience of watching it so damn pleasant.

 Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
I couldn't understand a damn word that Elijah Wood said, no matter the accent used. Anne Hathaway looked weird with white hair. I liked Mia Wasikowska. At the end, when Alice became business partners with her dad's old friend, well, that made no sense whatsoever.
Whenever I read a book where a character picks his nose or a movie where a character does the same, it makes me fly into a rage and wish death and destruction upon vast portions of the population, usually the elderly who do not know how to drive through a roundabout. I just loathe nose picking depictions.

Yes, Elijah Wood was virtually inaudible.

 Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
At least Elijah would have been cheaper than Johnny Depp, in terms of salary and eye manipulation technology and general foppishness. I am beginning to like Johnny Depp less and less.
Thirty years from now will people think Ford/Wayne, Kurosawa/Mifune, Scorsese/De Niro, Burton/Depp? I think not, but people might have thought that was a possibility in a bygone era.

 Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
I think I made it through the first 20 minutes or so of this movie last night before I blacked out. Seriously, fucking nothing happened. It was a bunch of pale-as-ghosts-assholes walking around talking bullshit, with lots of shitty editing and mise-en-scene. Is it worth it to continue watching? It's on instant watch, so it's not that big of a deal.

 Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
It's a shit movie. Probably the shittiest to ever make more than 200m.
I don't understand how it made that much either than the 3D wave it rode because it is one drab piece of crap.

So if this movie were to come out today and not shortly after AVATAR came out, it wouldn't do as well as it did??? See?? This might also be a case where the general moviegoer isn't like your typical cinephile that notices this sort of thing when it comes to how 3D is supposed to look, you know???

 Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
I watched this again last night, and it is certainly very entertaining, but quite forgettable for a few reasons. The Red Queen is not an imposing villain, and the stakes never feel very high. Plus, the plot meanders and it doesn't really seem to be having anything happen until the end. I'd compare it to Hook, in that the human world stuff is good, while the fantasy world stuff lacks focus and cohesiveness. I'd rate it over Cinderella though for actually trying to do something with the world instead o regurgitating plot points we've seen before.

I remember liking this movie but in all seriousness that dance that the Mad Hatter does at the very end is one of the worst movie scenes of all time and makes me never want to watch this again.
