 Ever After
Ever After Quote: Ever After: A Cinderella Story is a 1998 film inspired by the fairy tale Cinderella, directed by Andy Tennant and starring Drew Barrymore, Anjelica Huston and Dougray Scott. The screenplay is written by Tennant, Susannah Grant, and Rick Parks. The original music score is composed by George Fenton. The film's closing theme song "Put Your Arms Around Me" is performed by the rock band Texas.
The usual pantomime and comic/supernatural elements are removed and the story is instead treated as historical fiction, set in Renaissance-era France. It is often seen as a modern, post-feminism interpretation of the Cinderella myth.

One of my favorite movies. Irresistibly sweet and pleasant, you are unlikely to find many girls who won't like this movie. There's a hint, there, guys. Drew Barrymore's talent and charisma shines through in Ever After more than any other film. She is terrific in this film. A

Very good movie. Drew is wonderful and so is Anjelica Huston. It's a far better realistic take than King Arthur was. I liked how even though you hate Huston's character, at moments you could see why she felt the way she did. A sympathetic wicked stepmother! I grade it an A-.

Who would have ever thought King Arthur and Cinderella had anything in commom? Both movies take a failry tale/legend and try to give a re-telling without the magic. It works in Ever After. It doesn't in King Arthur.

 Re: Ever After
Just rewatched it on HBO, I loooooooveeeee this movie.
Drew Barrymore's lead character is one of the most appealing protagonists in any movie in the last 15-20 years, imo.
