Re: Canadian B.O. 2010 (ALICE drops 29 %)
I think if it goes on for some more weeks specially in 2D there is a real shot for it to reach that 100M mark, though 2D has not done much for Avatar and the next week might be the only chance for it to save some of it's 3D screens after which HTTYD comes

Re: Canadian B.O. 2010 (DRAGON opens 19 % below MvsA)
Alice is massive in Canada. Shutter Island also did really, really good considering what kind of a movie it is.

Re: Canadian B.O. 2010 (DRAGON No. 1)
Hmm, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo made almost $2.5 million in Canada alone? Is that where most of its gross come from or does something not add up here?

Re: Canadian B.O. 2010 (DRAGON No. 1)
I think it was released in French Canada a year ago, that's why the cume is much bigger. I don't know wheather the French Canadian gross is included in the domestic total...

Re: Canadian B.O. 2010 (DRAGON No. 1)
The gross is separate - I guess because it has two different distributors From Variety on Specialty Releases Sat., Apr. 24, 2010 (before the weekend numbers) http://www.variety.com/article/VR111801 ... Id=13&cs=1Another notable player on the specialty front this year is Swedish thriller "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." Micro-distrib Music Box Films nabbed U.S. rights last October, and debuted the pic at 34 locations March 19. The pic has cumed $5.3 million and is approaching the distrib's 2008 French success "Tell No One," which grossed $6.2 million.
