If Jim Carrey made it at 43 was Tom Hanks, about 48, excluded for his age or because he wasn't in the top 10.

If i'm going with sheer acting talent, it's gotta be Gael. If i'm going with who I have the biggest man crush on, it'd still be Gael with Clive Owen in a close second. So, yeah, my vote's for Gael.

Ok, I haven't had the time to get out and watch foreign movies in awhile.
So are there any others that belong on the list?

Gael is good, but not worthy of that list.
I'm annoyed that Tom Cruise, George Clooney and Brad Pitt isn't there..but i understand that it's for under 40. (i think Brad is over 40 anyhow :???: )
Benicio Del Toro is the best actor in the world, from the list.

I'll take Leonardo DiCaprio, with Johnny Depp being a close second. Crowe and Cage are great too.

This is under 40 only?
Why include Carey who is over 40 but not Cruise, Hanks, Pitt (tho he might not make it anyway).
A joke and I can't take it seriously. I think it went the easy way rather than include everyone. Top 10 of our generation ....
I would have to say for MY generation/lifetime ... whatever it would be something like this:
Hanks
Cruise
Pitt
Leo
Depp
Gibson
Travolta
Ford
Carey
Smith

how much you wanna bet if prates hadn't been a success, Depp wouldn't be on it. I hate such lists. They're not about whos good or not. They're about what would end up being successful. Depp's a great actor but they wouldn't have considered him.

Ok so if were going to be fair ...
Name - Average Movie Gross - My Picks in Blue.
Deffinates =
Harrison Ford - $98,638,527
Tom Hanks - $93,561,849
Tom Cruise - $92,244,484
Eddie Murphy - $97,224,798
Probables
Jim Carrey - $86,880,563
Will Smith - $109,091,623
Mel Gibson - $66,190,352
Questionables
Bruce Willis - $55,207,700
George Clooney - $65,052,939
Johnny Depp - $38,407,852
Samuel L Jackson - $54,745,653
Robin Williams - $53,114,254
Robert De Niro - $40,110,872
John Travolta - $56,240,466
Jack Nicholson - $52,027,623
Matt Damon - $56,435,666
Bill Murray - $47,892,181
Mike Myers - $125,075,362
Brad Pitt - $46,543,863
Yeh I dunno's
Tommy Lee Jones - $58,402,564
Arnold Schwarzenegger - $69,012,551
Sean Connery - $41,898,758
Sylvester Stallone - $47,473,316
Keanu Reeves - $49,728,407
Nicolas Cage - $39,625,412
Kevin Bacon - $34,668,480
I tend to pick mine both based on gross, types of movies, and who I feel is the face of the movie industry over that time frame.
Jackson was my #10, in the end the sheer number of movies he has done, while still maintaining a respectable gross is what did it for me.
Brad Pitt is a no brainer for me, he is just too much of a name brand and a tramendous actor who picks the right roles for him. Travolta is a close call for me, but I think he deserves it.
Depp is still to relativly unknown even after Pirates, without it he wouldnt be close to consideration. Bruce Willis would be my #11, and Depp a close 12. I feel if Pirates 2 and 3 are sucessful and Wonka does ok, then Depp gets on the list easily, but for now I leave him off despite his remarkable skill.

As mentioned already, if this is a "under 40" list, take out one of the actors who's over 40. Add Edward Norton instead.
