$140M total easy. The legs for this movie are gonna be insane. New trailer should give it a solid opening too.

Right now I think it'll gross $34M opening weekend, and $145M total.

This looks so much like Nacho Libre. Jack Black was really hot sell that time since he had a lot of movies coming out during that period. This one does not have any such liberty and the acting looks decent but not good. It will have same legs as Nacho Libre and around 90-95M total. With a modest opening of 28-30M. I don't see it crossing 100M though.

Uhh, Nacho Libre was PG and about mexican wrestling, how does it compare to this ultra violent superhero movie at all? This thing has been playing off the charts.

This is being underestimated.

Two big reservations

If Kick Ass beats Watchmen, it will be at least the second biggest movie in their history, and at that point possibly even bigger than Fahrenheit 9/11. While I'm not saying this is impossible, I would feel much better about Kick Ass's prospects if it was being handled by another studio. Lionsgate is going to have to be market this with much more finesse than usual. Pre-release screenings to build WOM are a good start, but it won't be enough.

2. Good WOM doesn't always mean good legs - especially when you're a hard-R comic book adaptation opening in the spring. Best case scenario it'll just hit a 3.0 multiplier (that's what 300 scored.) I think it'll need to open with at least 45 million... Which certainly isn't impossible, but would be a record for Lionsgate.

It's not impossible, but the only reason I don't see it it making to it 100mill is because IM2 comes out three weeks later and that could completely kill KA. I also can't forget that if The Losers another action packed comicbook adaptation still comes out the week before and it's likely to be PG-13 it will obviously have more appeal to a wider audience. Right now I have KA at 19M OW and 75M DO which is a solid finish in my book.
