be.redy wrote: Great win for IB. This means it will get a nice push from the actors branch (in the last 10 years, BP and Ensemble matched 7 times). Hopefully it can pull a dark horse win in the BP. All this Avatar and The Hurt Locker talk is just too boring. There won't be any fun if either of them are called out on the big night. The Hurt Locker would be hugely surprising at this point...a $12 million grosser. And Basterds is not winning BP.

The Hurt Locker would be much less surprising than let's say..... Crash. Despite its gross.

 Re: SAG awards winners!
Less surprising, yes, but Crash was also the biggest BP surprise in a very very long time, so...

 Re: SAG awards winners!
Shakespeare in Love was somewhat surprising but not a shock. It had the most nominations in its year (which Crash did not), it won Best Picture at the Globes (Crash wasn't even nominated), it won BAFTA for Best Film (Crash did not).
The Hurt Locker's win would be probably more surprising at this point than SiL's win.

 Re: SAG awards winners!
Well to be fair SiL was in a different category at the Globes than it's main competitor SPR. Besides, since when are the Globes a good indicator for Oscar? They have lost their compass for years now. It's a suprise they managed to match BP with one of their winners last year.
I still think The Hurt Locker is almost not a surprise compared to SiL and especially Crash.
