I'd propose March 6th. We could mirror the time of Oscar and start at 5:00pm, PST, or we could start a few hours earlier for Arthur, Levy, and the European gang.

I'm for that, so if nobody objects with a reasonable objection within the next 24 hours, 8PM EST on March 6th will be the date.

A March 6th show date would mean all speeches have to be sent to me by the 3rd. Zingaling, you are presenting Best Horror, so since you can't be here, I'll just post the speech you're writing for you. Just get it to me by the 3rd.

I'm available both days, at least right now. One upside is that people will have the next day off and can stay later if the show runs long, while the downside is that people are more likely to have commitment (dinner, movie, party) on Saturday night than Sunday night.

If we had to pick one or the other, I'd rather have it on Sunday, so I can atleast make it for the end of the show.

Maverikk, I'll send you my speech by next Wednesday.

Sunday. We already established that Saturday night is the slowest night of the week. Sunday is great because most people are still relaxing from the weekend (don't have work) but no one has as many social obligations then (in comparison to sat night). Sat night will kill it IMO. Sunday is most pleasing. That's when we hosted the poster awards and it worked well. You can't please everyone. Put it to vote if you like, but ultimately, it should be when the hosts are available. You guys need to be free, everyone else is just second fiddle.

Thanks again for all the hard work. How many ballots are up to now?

I agree with Galia (shocking, I know). Most of us probably have some sort of social obligations on Saturday nights. I know I do.

As for the number of ballots, we are up to 65. Pretty damn good if I do say so myself. It's really slowed down the last couple of days, though. I'd still like to crack 75, but that seems like it might be tough.

I pm'ed ballots to about 200 people, pretty much everyone with significant post count (over 10) and/or an appearance date anytime in the past six weeks. So maybe 250. Took me forever, and about 45 of them are still sittin' in my box. Hit up guys you know though...tell them we want to make the first one big, and so many of you guys, Xia, Mata, Mav, Makeshift, all the speechwirters, have been working so hard to make it a grande event. Guilt non-voters like crazy...I have faith in this tried and true method. Never underestimate the power of a guilt trip...now go!

I'm hoping for 70-80 ballots. Some races are so close that if you want one to win, one or two votes will do it. :) And we're still having ties.

It's due by march 3rd, and you only have one speech to write. Your double account was disqualified.
