 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
658 players right now (shouldn't increase much more, Omni and I are always among the last 5 or so), only behind Star Trek's opening weekend (705 players) and Memorial Day weekend (672 players) for the year, and the average for Avatar is $91.2 million. I wish I could read the forums there to see why it's so high. So many have gone over $100m.

LOL. For the second week in a row, I forgot to update my initial predictions. Last week that wasn't so bad. It'll be interesting to see what happens this week...

97/98, worst december ranking by far, but at least it's a top 100.
Congrats to Gopher (big congrats), Ryu, Scottie, and SolC9!

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
From the BOM's statement that "Due to the holidays, a number of pictures will remain estimates. They will be updated with actual grosses next week", I'm guessing there won't be a derby this week, and the result will be posted next week instead.

Yeah, at least it's the beginning of the year, and if we have to miss a week, it makes more sense to occur on a week without any new opener or wide expansion.

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
I expect the ranking for the week to change with all the actuals. Specifically, I'm waiting for New Moon to drop. Using other Sunday drops as guide, it should finish with 2.8m instead of 3.0m, and that might be enough for a top 20 finish to conclude the year. So we're predicting after all; that's good, although it could mean one of the highest averages of the year.

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
Yes!!! Yes!!! Brandon has officially been dethroned as the all time box office derby wins leader. I feel like when Barry Bonds hit his 756th homerun. Thanks for all the comments everyone. This is also my best start of the year, to say the least.

Congrats Xiayun on 2009! (How did you get the chart to come up? I can't get to it from BOM.)
