I don't get the over-the-top love for Inception. We haven't seen nearly enough to know if it can meet this $250 million + potential everyone is guaranteeing. Can we keep in mind Nolan still only has two films over $200 million, let alone $100 million, and both involve a caped crusader? Sure, he's a much bigger pull now, but wouldn't that mean Sam Raimi was as well? This just seems too dark to be that huge.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

I'm not talking World Wide though it will make more WW than every 2010 release aw well. the film was around 565-575m on thursday dec. 31, it should easily clear 1.5b int. for 2010 considering it is already at 1b int with 2009 excluded, Avatanic will make more Domestically, Internationally and WW in 2010 alone than any 2010 release.

WW is already a guarantee and Domestic also looks close enough. It would still be in Top 5 for sure :D but number 1 is also not out of picture. It made $283,624,210 domestically in 2009 by December 31st. So if goes somewhere around 700M-750M it would still beat others which will be crawling to cross 400M mark :)

Yeah actually the ones before I no longer count.

It starts from Daybreakers but I didn't really feel those so.

Anyway the ones I'm really feeling are the ones in bold.

I'll add The Crazies to open to 28m+

to

A Nightmare on Elm Street 40m+ OW
Percy Jackson 40m+ OW
Valentine's Day 50m+ OW

and maybe Tooth Fairy finishes with less than 45m total.

So that's only 4 I think to add to my predictions for the year.

You know I seriously underestimated the buzz on AIW. This movie is being brought up everywhere and it's still two months away. I think an opening at 60mill is very possible.

An opening of just $60m would be a disappointing bomb based on the current hype and especially since even Fast & Furious made $70m last year.

I wouldn't call a $60m opening for Alice disappointing, but perhaps a little below expectations (or what they will be closer to the release), as it should open quite a bit higher than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 5 years ago.

The lack of any family fare before it opens is going to help a great deal I believe, especially with all the R films between now and then. The only family film near it's release is Percy Jackson, but it's still three weeks before Alice and I see it doing Spiderwick/Terabithia numbers.
