Directors Guild of America (DGA) Announces Nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for the year 2009.

The Nominees in alphabetical order are:
1. Kathryn Bigelow - The Hurt Locker (Summit Entertainment)
2. James Cameron - Avatar (Twentieth Century Fox)
3. Lee Daniels - Precious: Based on the novel "Push" by Sapphire (Lionsgate)
4. Jason Reitman - Up In The Air (Paramount Pictures)
5. Quentin Tarantino - Inglourious Basterds (The Weinstein Company and Universal Pictures)

The winner will be named at the 62nd Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

Those are the 5 I expected. Great for QT to get in despite not being in the DGA! I still think IB can win with a little help. It is truly the movie of the year

I think given the current surge of awards Kathryn has a better chance than any in the list

Expected line-up, though I had Eastwood instead of Daniels there.


Bigelow is by far the frontrunner...though IF Reitman wins this then I'd say Up in the Air is the clear frontrunner for BP.

I think Eastwood will get in over Daniels at the Oscars, though.

i'm getting more and more convinced that Avatar/Bigelow will be the BP/BD duo, and so I say Bigelow definitely takes the DGA.
