I believe this is already up in the dvd section Blondie. But I'll let it be. We said we'll be less strict here and the watercooler.

It had to be said.

AVP is getting beaten by a film that's total gross didn't even match AVP's opening weekend gross...(Cellular)

But AVP is still selling very well in DVD Sales whether it had to be said or not, it has done well and well enough for an AVP II on the way.. =D>

Everyone's on the way now. The Grudge 2, Boogeyman 2, Saw 2, etc. If you're related to horror and you were released in the last year, you're getting a sequel.

I thought The GRUDGE sort of blew, I haven't seen BOOGEYMAN so I can't comment and SAW was Fantastic and I was telling my buddy about this movie this morning and convinced him to check it out.. It's 3 days late from BLOCKBUSTER and I don't give a fuck.. I can't imagine how they would do a SAW II, but I'm sure they'll think of a way.. I just think PG-13 and Horror don't fucking mix and I accepted it with AVP cause the Dark Horse Comic was more ALIEN on PREDATOR action and gore than humans getting wasted, maybe a couple here and there like the movie was and that was fine for PG-13 as a nonrelated standalone film, but I'll storm MGM Studio if they even think about making The Amityville Horror PG-13.. It damn well better be R Rated..

It is very odd the disparity between rentals for AVP and DVD sales.

It's total DVD gross would be much better (meaning it would take in more than it did in its box office run) if it was doing better in rentals. It's sales numbers are tracking higher than they should, while its rentals are tracking lower. I think this is due to the fact that you either loved the movie, or didnt like it, not really much room for in between. Thus leading to people being really enthusiastic to buy it, or not want to see it at all.

Either way the movie was a sucess and made a good chunk of money.

I'm in between. I thought it was decent popcorn fare, and I bought it with the Predator: Collector's Edition. It's great to play back-to-back with Freddy Vs. Jason at viewing parties.

If only everyone thought about it the way you did: Decent Popcorn Fare Sci-Fi Action Flick instead of thinking it was gonna be a Cameron Epic or something..
