Nice increase in the UK on last weekend as well, just as expected.

Dunno if i should be ecstatic about France (& Spain) numbers or sad seeing that some other big markets are doing much bellow their potential.

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $809.1m Worldwide (#23)
"Avatar" is already the highest-grossing film of all time in Russia, the fourth highest in Spain and Australia, and the second-biggest U.S. movie ever in France, India and South Korea. It opens on Monday in China, an increasingly lucrative market for effects-laden tent-pole films, and on Jan. 15 in Italy. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/

This is pure insanity. $667 million OS in 17 friggin' days? Cameron should NEVER be doubted again. Whatever the hell his next movie is, just plug in "From The Director of Titanic and Avatar" and people will come.

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1.019bn (#4)
Those tallies are just insane in US$.
Top "Avatar" territories overseas were France ($21.3 million on the weekend for a $84.5 million), Germany ($12.3 million, cume $57.2 million), Spain ($10.1 million, cume $47.1 million) and the U.K. ($9.3 million, cume $53 million).
====
UK lags again, it had a 55% increase though compared to last week. Should pull in another $20m or so before the end for a gross around $75-85m.
France, well there's no telling how far this can go. $100m is a lock, it will surpass that next weekend and is definately targeting $120-$130m.
Germany, almost $60m already, it's definately going to hit $80m where most uber-blockbusters currently sits in US$. Target is ROTK at the momment around the $90m.
Spain, already blown past all other foreign releases with the exception of Titanic. This looks to gross around $70-80m in the end which is just maginificent and so close to the UK.

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1.019bn (#4)
how is it doing in Russia and AUS and such...
I wonder how it was doing in Canada...
ROTK hold the record for biggest gross in the 3 weeks of Holidays of 29 million. Avatar was a 19 million last Sunday, could be near 30 million by this weekend. If so Avatar should hit 50 million based off a 6 million opening.

A blizzard with a foot of snow in half of Germany melted away the German admissions tally to 730,000-750,000... Still, AVATAR is at 3.9m admissions after 17 days and fifth biggest movie of the year (probably will be No. 3 by next weekend)...

Yeah its huge....though to be fair you have also think of that
-overseas there isnt much competition -and currently we have a weak US-Dollar and that helps the International Number
but yeah its friggin big and I didnt think it would even come close to that.
