I'm wondering if it can do $130+ million...yeah... That'd probably put its overseas number at $400 million or so already.

100m+ is an easy lock. Almost every blockbuster that has opened in nearly every market the first or second week have delivered a 2nd weekend over $100m.

INTERNATIONAL - Largest Weekends

Needs to take down Transformers $165.4m to get the 2nd weekend crown. T2 of course, expanded and had a shitload of new openings. Same goes for the next one down, Matrix Reloaded, which expanded into some major European markets.

The first comparable standard is Pirates 3 which dropped from $216m to $103m, Ice Age 3 from $151m to $102m and 2012 from $165.2m to $100.5m.

I see Avatar doing at least $150m.

1) Harry Potter 6: HBP - $237m (84/15,900) - Wk. 1
2) Spiderman 3 - $230,544,376 (75/107/16,711) – Wk. 1

week 1 for tf2 was just 2 markets( uk and japan). i would not call 2nd weekend a "hold".

This is why it can get fuzzy when trying to compare 1st, 2nd, 3rd international weekends. There are films that had a more gradual rollout, like DMC/TDK, and others which opened in a handful of markets a week or two before really unleashing.

Looks like after two good days in Poland, Avatar looks like it going to explode today. :D

OW over 300k adm looks more likely and that would give $2.5M OW. The WOM is just fantastic. And since it's the best time for Box Office in Poland ( between Christmas and Easter ) I think that $16M+ total shouldn't be a problem. ( My prediction is more like 20M+ but I will play it safely for now ;) )

That should give it a Top 10 opening in Poland in US$. It will need $2.7m to land inside the Top 5.

$16m+ would be among the Top 5 highest grossing pics ever in US$. The only movies i know to gross this much is Lejdis ($18.2m) and Shrek 3 ($17.8m).

If it wasn't for currency exchange this years numbers would be much better. Ice Age 3 with last year's currency exchange would have made 18.5M $, Madagascar 2 would have made $16M. It's a little bit better now but I'm sure that with last years currency exchange I would predict 23M+ for Avatar ( and tha's with the same no. of adm.)

This year Polish Box Office has boomed. Ticket prices went up a little bit and still number of tickets sold went up by 13.5% ( not counting Avatar numbers ) and it's already at 38M. That's 4.2M more tickets then last years record .

Top 7 in adm.
1. Madagascar 2 - 2.2M adm. - 12M $
2. Ice Age 3 - 2M adm. - 14M $
3. 2012 - 1.5M+ adm. - 10M $
4. Kochaj i Tancz - 1.35M adm - 6.5M $
5. Popieluszko - 1.35M adm - 4.7M $
6. Harry Potter 6 - 1.15M adm - 6.4M $
7. Angels& Demons - 1.05M adm - 5.8M $

As you can see currency exchange messed up the charts. For example UP made 6M $ but had 900k adm.

Thanks, the Shrek franchise is huge here. I wonder if Shrek 4 can continue the 3m+ run the previous two movies had.

Titanic is still the foreign release champion, though Passion of the Christ wasn't too far off.
