This was my first year as a member of the LVFCS and I must say, I am overall quite pleased with the way things turned out. Sure only 8/21 of my picks won, but mostly all the winners are very worthy. We actually went a bit mainstream this year compared to last year when "Frost/Nixon" seemingly swept our awards.

YAY, a sweep for The Hurt Locker!
But I don't get the effects win for Star Trek and, at the same time, an Art Direction win for Avatar. WTF?

I talk about that in story I wrote, which you can read at http://www.thecornercinema.com/?p=1645. Also, I was recently informed that there was an error in tabulating the final ballots and therefore these winners are null until the new list of winners has been published. The new winners should be announced sometime early this evening.
