Kind of surprising, everyone had Precious or Up in the Air doing this. Deserving film though

Looks like critics from both coasts loved The Hurt Locker. Without much competition, it easily becomes an award favorite. The subject (the war in Iraq) the film tackles is still timely and relevant, making it a handy pick for the Academy to send out a political message.
