Despite Ray possibly being the best of the 5, it won't win because of Jamie Foxx. Had Jamie Foxx not been in that movie it would've been just another bio pic, note the lack of supporting acting noms. MDB was the best overall movie of the best year, it should win, and it will win.

BUMP just because of what little I've seen of MDB, It looks like ROCKY all over again with a woman and twist ending... Too much overpraise and hype for this movie is killing it for my Expectations for if and when I do see this and I will.... BUMP for "RAY" being the Underdog and coming out of nowhere and taking the Big one to the shock and dismay of all critics including Ebert who praised MDB so much on his show this morning, he bored his partner to death with it.... =D>

What partner, Richard Roeper? Well, you can hear the two of them giving a review at this link...
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/million ... =25&page=3
Just click on Richard Roeper, and the audio will download, and Roeper clearly loved the film as well. BKB, M$B is NOTHING like Rocky, and it's a far superior movie in every way than Ray is. That's not even the best Jamie Foxx film of 2004, as Collateral blows Ray away. You need to watch M$B before you make a total fool out of yourself with those comments. #-o

BKB: * Let me think about the most popular boxing movie and say MDB ripped it off *
( When Cinderella Man gets nominated for an oscar )
BKB: Oh im not gonna see Cinderella Man, even though its based on a true story it's still a Rocky rip off. Im sure Walk the Line ( Johnny Cash story ) will win best picture because he's dead and the oscars will honor him for passing away even though he has nothing to do with the movie industry.

You can laugh and mock that all you want, but never be shocked at how the Academy thinks and RAY could very well win it out of nowhere because of it being an honorable tribute to Ray Charles and the Academy has been known to do this in the past with thinking with their heart..

Once again Maverikk, I don't have to watch the fucking movie.. It's a boxing movie that looks like a sendup from ROCKY wuith a gut wrenching ending that stirred up alot of shit.. It does and I think it's great your in total love with this movie and have seen it like a dozen times, but while everyone mocks and teases my prediction for "RAY" winning the big one, how will you feel if neither MDB or RAY wins it and the BEST PICTURE goes to a film like say SIDEWAYS or even The AVIATOR??? Everyone is so goddamn certain MDB is the LOCK to win, but how do you know the Aacdemy won't feel for Martin Scorcese and give the BEST PICTURE to The AVIATOR?? Hell, I'm willing to admit if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, but folks get off this MDB high horse your on and start thinking fucking logically here.. UPSETS ARE POSSIBLE FOLKS!!! It's Happened God knows how many times in the past..

Upsets DO happen, BKB, but Ray is in 5th place on the food chain. The Aviator and Sideways are the only realistic chances of winning besides Million Dollar Baby. I wouldn't shit you about something like that, I'm being strait.
The reason you should watch it, is because you would see exactly why it is so good, and exactly why it's the type of movie that the academy would love to reward. It's nothing like Rocky either. Trust me on that one. The academy isn't viewing trailers here and judging the movies by that. If the academy is thinking with their heart, which they do, they are much more likely to vote for the movie that grabs your heart, and that's not Ray, it's Million Dollar Baby.
You have company with your Ray prediction, as somebody from the New York Times also believes it will win.

lf Ray wins best picture l may just bite my thumb off. Far from the best of the year...(and l mean MILES from it.) But of course, my opinion means nothing as far as the winner is concerned...but, yknow.

I mean would it REALLY be that big a deal if "RAY" pulled it off as the Underdog and won BEST PICTURE??? Would it honestly take anything away from the so called greatness that is MDB??? Again, upsets have occurred in the past and it's nice to see the New York Times Critic agreeing with me on "RAY" being the one that should win BEST PICTURE.. I knew I wasn't alone on that.. =D> =D>
