I love seeing people say the ending is impossible, and then other people defending the ending. Me? I loved the movie. I rarely need justification for things. Considering the same people who question the ending to Saw will go out and love a science fiction film, I think the argument is downright stupid.

I mean impossible that he could have laid there for HOURS with that sickness he had, with taht device he had...and they never noticed a move at all????
The cough is probably a big plot hole, but I don't remember it taking too much effort to press a button of a handheld device.
I can easily lay on the ground, hold a little device in my hand, and press a button. No one would notice unless they actually payed attention to the random dead guy in the middle of the room for all 6 hours.

That's true, but I wouldn't consider it impossible.
Anyways, these days, there are tons of movies that have "impossible" endings, but people love movies anyways. I found the ending to this movie absolutely shocking, and loved it as a whole. I'll excuse bad acting for grade-A entertainment, plus that ending.

Spoilers....
I don't think the "dead guy" pressed the button. I think it was the guy observing them in the other room...the one that was supposed to kill them...
End Spoilers...

Why?? Why is that impossible?? :???: He layed there face down in a pool of blood without anyone being able to see him breathe at all, especially with as far away as both the other guys were from him being shackled to that Pipe.. Once again, you guys read too much into everything and it was possible..

He was holding the thing. If you remember, at the end of the movie, he stands up, and when the photographer goes for the gun, he presses the button. He had the button the whole time.

Well the guy was able to lay on the floor for such a long time i presume bc he took that drug that makes a person look dead. Like the guy who had a key in his intestines. I'm assuming he knew how long he would not be able to move for, but that drug allowed him to still be aware of what was going on. So i'm sure he set up the instructions fot the other guy so that things were timed properly.
At least that's what i think.

HERE! Let me settle this once and for all.
The question remains unanswered because it adds mystery to the movie. Happy?

I think the most unforgivable plot element is the guy who's been poisoned. How long is the poison in his system for? 24 hours? Longer? Surely it wouldn't take that long for a hospital to find out what was in his system and give him the antidote.
Moreover, I'd be far less likely to put my trust in a killer (who's recently poisoned me, no less) than in a hospital containing numerous antidotes and trained professionals. And I certainly wouldn't kill a mother and daughter as the first alternative to getting myself checked out.
Also, it's been a while since I've seen it and my memory's a little hazy so maybe someone here could tell me: Does the killer have a limp when he stands at the end?

I saw SAW (6/10 or C+) opening weekend and it wasn't that great. It's one of the most overrated movies of the year. It was really cheesy and laughable with some of the most atrocious acting from the leads. These are the two worst performances I've seen in 2004. And the scene where the killer rides in on the big trike was absolutely HILARIOUS! The whole theater cracked up laughing. A lot of people were also laughing at the bad acting. The two women sitting behind me were making fun of it the whole time, and I couldn't have agreed with what they were saying more. In fact because of how horrible the acting is and some really cheesy parts it ends up being one of the funniest movies I've seen all year. Too bad it's not intentional.
SEVEN is better, but I too think it's overrated. In a way, I found it to be pretty much exactly like all of the other "cop tracking down serial killer" flicks. The ending is what makes it better and more shocking and ballsy. I think I'd rate it a 7/10 (B).

They both rock, but SE7EN is the better movie. It had better acting, better directing, a better ending etc;
However, I loved the hell out of SAW as well.
SAW -- 8.5/10
SE7EN -- 10/10

I'm going to get flamed for this.... I don't think someone her age has had enough exposure to know which of those two films were better. She may have been 8 when Se7en was released. Granted, she could have seen it on video or whatnot, and I'm sure there are some teenagers who manage to see a lot of films in their space time when not in school. There will be some teenagers who will say Cursed is the best werewolf film ever made. Those of us who are wiser or older, know the real deal. At a certain point IMO, younger people tend to like newer things and not necessarily what's better and perhaps not as new.

My biggest complaint about Saw are the scenes where Glover and his partner just let the killer walk around instead of arresting him. They just wait for no reason.
BTW; My choice goes to Se7en. It's in my all-time top 5.

I love the way the killer walks into his secret hideout already wearing a hood and cloak. Does he wear it shopping, I wonder?
