you know to be quite honest, after watching EP2 a few times, i thought Hayden out of all the actors did the best job of portraying what he was suppose to .. just weak dialogue.

Maverikk wrote: torrino wrote: Are you trying to imply that my opinion and that of most every American is invalid because we haven't taken part in the filmmaking process. Shut the fuck up, Mav.
The general opinion is a lot of people, Mav. A looot of people. People just don't want to admit it because you'll attack them with stupid "Go suck PJ's bananas" comment
Continue, Maverikk. At one point, I thought you were reasonable. Since then, you've acted like a child. Whomever you argue, whether it be me, dolce, Fett, loyal, or Zingaling, you ALWAYS sound younger and less experienced in how to argue. You always sound less reasonable than the person you're arguing against. And, the more you do it, the more of a fool you'll make of yourself...
Have fun in the process because you WON'T give up! \:D/ Sure, kid, sure. Fett was about the most immature idiot there ever was.
I agree on Fett. Never liked him much and he had Goldie-esque qualities.
But torrino has a point somewhere behind his snot nosed, disrespectful teenage attitude and I fear, so do I.

Maverikk wrote: If it's hard to find a buddy with the same tastes, then why on earth would anybody listen to a buddy telling them to go see a movie that you know you have little interest in? Goes back to my orgianl point, the social value of the outing outweights on hestitation. At every Toronto Movie Night, we saw a movie I either woul dnot have bothered to see (The Punisher, 13 Going on 30) or a movie I had no desire to see again (Shrek 2), but I ewnt becasue Tim and neotheone are fun to hang out with. And the discussion about the movie at dinenr after was the best part. Plus, the movie theater in Toronto has a bar, and bad movies are funnier when one has had a few cosmopoliations  There is also a certain joy in seeing really bada movies. I watched From Justin to Kelly, I heard alto of bashing, but I sat through the movie and now I can rightly bash away. There is alot of fun in wathicng a bad movie with a friend and jsut ripping it to shreds. I used to watch soft core porn on Skinemax with my friends for laugh, soem fo my friends initally though, my god, you've gone mad, but as with any friendship there is compromise. They watched Lord of the Throbbits and I agreed to rewatch Akira, even though I hated it the first time. When it comes to matters of entertainment, I take alot more opinions into account then when it coems to matters like what house to buy, where to move, or who to marry. Whne it comes to what movies am I willing to see I am alot more open then when it comes to other more personal, and more life altering things. Hence why ithink the whole jump off bridge comment is BS. I will follow my friends to a screening of Gigle, but I am not going to shot up heroin with them after. We all have our lines. A great movie quote for this discussion "You know, even though we've watched Pretty Woman like thirty-six times, I never get tired of making fun of it. " -Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. Maverikk wrote: True, and wouldn't you agree that a good example of not following, is if you know it's not a good idea for you to do so? Yes, and looking at my above example. so if Torrino pays to see Gigli, I might later mock him for wasting his money in a joking manner, but if he does the heroin after b/c his friends did then I would have a talk with about being a folloewr, and thiking for oneself. If you friends want to see a movie you hate, then suggest another film, if they shot you down, at least you tried, Maverikk wrote: I was labeled a LOTR hater because I gave TTT an A, but pointed out a few flaws, so I feel for you....lol All teens who made up their own versions of what I said, for those keeping score. People, regardless of age, have a devoution to certain things that manifests itself in some odd and sometiems humerous ways online. I've been called alot of things, on several message boards from posters as young as 13 to BKB calling me a LOTR worshipped (even though I rate ROTK a D, but hey, he was to busy caling me names to actually learn my opinion). Maverikk wrote: I don't care who likes what. I'm actually used to having trolls and bashers fequent threads of movies that I like, like Star Wars and Hulk, but I don't really care one way or the other. I like them, and my opinion, not the opinion of others, is the only influence that I need. Your opinion should be the one you vlaue most, but you have to step back and realize that certain comparions you make place unfair requirements on the people you debate with. Maverikk wrote: I'm sure practically all of the movie's bashers are going to see the last one. I fully expect plenting of bashing too. \:D/
Of course, and unless some drstic changes have occured between this film and the last, I may be first in line to complain about how Lucas raped my childhood

Ok the acting of Hayden was not that bad. I guess he made a good job considering the stuff he had to do. (But still horrible dialog)
Something I really hated to about EP2 was Yoda. I mean what is going on in Lucas Head to give Yoda such a stupid fight part (Yoda the old mentor from the old Episodes, calm wise etc....)
Its Yoda and not Sonic or Mario :???:

I amy design the perfect peiece of software, but the user will find a way to fuck it up...does that make the user stupid, no, it makes my software poorly designed. I could create the best movie in a studio, and eveyroen who makes mvoies could think it is graet, but if it fails to get one person into the theater to see it, then on some levels the movie failed, and on others it succeeded. So true. I love using programming as the best example out there (mainly cause we have the experitise in design but sometimes lack an understanding of user experience) take the RT game for example. I've worked out almost every bug. Yet there were numerous problems in the game only cause i didn't realize how users can fuck up or what they prefer to see and not. As far as i was concerned, my design was perfect .. and it really was .. as long as it was only me who was playing it. Agreed, I think writing godo solid code and seeing it torn to peices teaches a person that while you may have the technical knowledge, so what, there is more to it then that. Hence why I look at firefox ad think, why would anyone not like this, yet I get commetns from my students about design things they wish were different...so I encoruage them to write to Mozilla...having a voice is nice. You could be the best director in the world and still make movies that people don; tlike, heck Kubrick is considered a master yet his movies were overall not well received by the masses. bABA wrote: you know to be quite honest, after watching EP2 a few times, i thought Hayden out of all the actors did the best job of portraying what he was suppose to .. just weak dialogue.
I think Hayden is a good actor (see Shattered Glass, where he was perfect), the script was just shite.

Maybe, and you know what? All those people who complained about you obsessing over Goldie may have had a point too. All those people that complained about Kelley may have had a point too. All those people who think that you are wrong in defending her may have a point too. Isn't it funny how points can be made?

Thequestion is, will either of you listen to points you are making about each other and reflect on them.

That's a shame.
But to come back to the question loyalfromlondon was wandering about what giant creature will appear in Episode III.....
Maybe Jar-Jar or Yoda using some Alice in Wonderland kind of grow-up pills.
No, Episode III will be great. Maybe a masterpiece, because I sense a big confidence in it. Like opening in Cannes.

I find it rather funny that you haven't addressed a single of my posts.

Maverikk vs. Lecter? I know this will get ugly. Pulling on Lecter's tail is like pulling on that of a lion's.

I only know about some big creature that Obi Wan is flying on.
I sense a lot of confidence in this film too, but I don't expect everyone to like it. Star wars is clearly not for everyone. I don't know of many movies that are.

True, it was a big creature Obi-Wan is flying on. Hopefully it looks good. I already saw some merchandise of it at theforce.net
