Uhum, anyhow getting back to the subject, wouldnt it of been better if they attached the trailer to The Ring 2 instead of Robots since the Star Wars series wont likely appeal to the general audience which are little kids for Robots, maybe the parents. Like what Torrino said, StarWars isnt on my most anticipated list but I'll probably check it out anyhow because its an event movie. There is absolutely nothing wrong with checking out a movie you dont seem to care for too much and sometimes you even find gems inside of it

That's what I was wondering. Why attach it to Robots? Because it's a kids movie? They should attach it to The Ring 2, where they know atleast $50 million dollars worth of people will see the trailer.

torrino, if you go to see a movie because your friends "make you", then I see that as a very weak minded person. Surely you have more backbone than that.

C'mon Maverikk you;ve never gone to see a movie you had no interest in becaue of a date?

I certainly see movies I have no interest in (like ALien vs Predator) because my boyfriend wants to and he see movies that I want to but he has no interest in. The same goes for my friends, if my anime loving had not tortured me with lots of anime I would not have seen and fallen in love with Spirited Away. There is nothing worng with doing something other people want to even if you ahve reservations, it can lead to you liking something you did not except to like.

Maverikk wrote:
My god, I hope your friends don't tell you to do drugs or drive drunk.

Not a comparable example.

This like the age old "jump off a bridge" bs line from parents, its not really comparable. If some is weak willed for seeing a movie becae there friends are all going and they'd rather not stay home alone, then you might as well condemn the whole human race.

Maverikk wrote:
Go see it because you want to, not because somebody else tells you to. Judging from your comments, you've already made up your mind about it, so what kind of credibility to you really think you would have for bashing the movie after you see it? None.

Valid poitn eh is already baised, but hye if Torrino comes out of hteater loving it, that says alot for the movie. If he dislikes it does not make his opinion invalid, it just means this move failed to make a believer out of a non believer, nothing wrong with that. His basis for disliking hte movie is based on the previous two, which is decent evidence.

Maverikk wrote:
That doesn't mean you're a village idiot, just that your opinion on EP III won't be anything to be taken seriously if you complain.

I disagree, I am going to see the third film even though I didn't like the previous two films. Thus my hopes that this will be any good are no high, so I fall in the same boat as Torrino. If my boyfriend were not dead set on seeing this opening weekend I'll probably wait a week or two and see it in the theater then. I certainly hope this film is better then Attack fo the Clones or The Phantom Menace, but I am not holding my breath as some pf my problems with the first two films are likely to be problems in third as well.

Is age even relevant to this conversation? Are you attacking torrino's credibility based on his age? That's what it looks like.

I guess if I'm older, I'm no longer a snot nosed disrespectful teen, but a reasonable adult...

It just changes with the snap of a finger...

I'm not being disrespectful. Just attentive to the general opinion of our community.

But, yeah, I'm a teen. We've already been through this. You already brought up the idea of "[talking] tough behind the safety of mommy and daddy's computer", and it had nothing to do with the argument. I don't see why I need to bring it up - It doesn't matter if I'm talking behind my parents' computer, my own, or my son's computer, it's still a valid argument that you've, once again, failed to address...

And, by the way, what you said was a personal attack, punk. [-X

General opinion of our community? That's funny. =D>

It's not a valid argument, because I did address it, so take your pacifier out of your mouth. I guess you weren't taught to respect your elders? I've noticed a lot of teens on the computer think they know more about the world than the adults do, and they have no manners. Perhaps when you get out of the house and start paying your own bills, you'll understand what the difference is.

I'm curious why you said this...

I'm not bashing Star Wars but more so what the fans make of them. It deserves the same treatment as The Matrix, as the films aren't examples of FINE film-making.

I guess that's why you replied in this thread in the first place, to bash our opinions? I have a feeling that I have a much stronger concept of what fine filmmaking is than you do.

I'm a huge fan of The Matrix.

Actually trim off 30 minutes or so from Reloaded and Revolutions, you got yourself a masterpiece.

The ending was good, I liked the Keymaker and the Merovigian (sp??)..it's better then Revolutions, but otherwise, you'll need to see my comments in the appropaite Matrix thread for my feelings on Reloaded.

I say mak'em one movie, we really did not need two. I can trim 20 minutes off the action scenes alone, heck some fo them should be cut entirely. I really think if they had edited down what they shot to one movie, it could have been really good.

I have my problems with the first film, but I still like the best, by alot, well some fo the animatrix shorts I like better, but that is not a fair comparison.

It is a lovely debate between Tony and I though, its intelligent, funny, and there is no name calling and bashing! It was a glorious back and forth, that went unappreciated by the masses

Its ok, I'll get over it.

I consider friends and girlfriend/boyfriend scenerios to be different. It's a lot more understandable to compromise for a lover than for a buddy. Buddies are not going to hold it against you like a lover would. That would be sick...lol

The bs line has merits. If you want to be a leader, you have to think like a leader. It you want to be a follower, you don't even have to think much.

It's also based off of his urges to show the Star Wars fans how their opinions suck, as he said in his own words.

You don't go around bashing movies for reasons like some of these guys do, and you have also shown that you think independentally, regardless of what popular opinion is. One of the things I like best about you.

I remember writing about that as well. There's too much fat between the two films. You don't have to show someone walking to work. Show them leaving their house, then arriving at work. That's the problem with Reloaded/Revolutions.

Does anyone have an Avid at home so they can recut the films into one?

It has always made me wonder why adults think they know everything. Especially people like you, Mav, who think teens are the scum of the Earth. Why? Because we drink, smoke, do drugs, and have sex? I didn't know adults didn't do that. And, for your information, I do respect my elders. I don't respect people who think they're better than teens because they've lived longer. You really don't know much, do you, Mav? You seem to have a clear grasp on the adult world, and maybe the *whole* world (based on your comments about Constantine, and how everyone hates it, right?). If you hate teens this much, I don't know what to expect from you in twenty-something years, when this year's teens will be running your country. And, I think it's safe to assume that you don't have a vendetta against teens from when you were a teen, because you probably think teens were more *sensible* back then, right?

It must be scary to think that these "snot nosed disrespectful teen , who likes to talk tough behind the safety of mommy and daddy's computer" will be the ones taking care of you one day. Have a good night sleep tonight.

Happy President's Day, Everybody! \:D/

Attack of the Clones is not fine filmmaking, Maverikk. Did you even pay attention to the screenplay? It was WORSE than Alien vs. Predator.

Just because you've been around longer doesn't mean you have a stronger concept of what fine filmmaking is. Quit with the generalizations. Not all teens are big ganja-smokin', car-crashin', rude guys. Some actually have the ability to THINK for themselves! If it were 1990 or whenever you were a teen, and you were posting on a message board, would you want someone ignoring your message just because they have a pre-conceived conception that you're a snotty brat?

The general opinion of the community IS that you're an unreasonable guy, Mav. One who can't give up and ALWAYS needs the last word. I've got no problem declaring it because I know it's true and no convincing on your part will ever get me to think something else...

I didn't respond in this thread to bash your opinions. But, that's irrelevent right now. I'm a bit pissed about your comments regarding teens. How can you claim that you're a reasonable person if you ignore what someone else has to say on the basis of age?

I'm not bashing movies without reason. I'm telling you I hated the past Star Wars movies. If you find me dissing Gigli or any other movie I haven't seen, let me know. I might mock a trailer, but never an entire movie.

I honestly don't care what your generalizations are anymore. I'll let you win. Take the last word, Mav. You're talking to a wall because that's what talking to you is like, anyways, so I might as well let you talk to the wind...

For me in around 50+ years I'll probably be around 80 with my own business and store. If a teenager enters my store, I would chase him out with a broom and while he drives away, I would shake my fist in the air and bellow out "Those dang mangy teenagers always stealing!"

See, this is exactly what I mean about disrectful teens, they make shit up when they are throwing fits.

#1, I don't hate teens, I just don't have much respect for those teens who act like they are a substiture for experience. Live a little longer, and you'll realize how little you actually know. I was there, you've never been where I am.

#2 , I've clearly stated that the consensus of Constantine was between thinking it was "ok" and disppointment. You translate that into "everyone hates it". Do you think that's worth respect?

I have a random SW question.

Hasn't every Star Wars film featured some sort of gargantuan creature.

A New Hope - Trash compactor beast
Empire - Space Slug
Return - Rancor
Phantom - Naboo water beasts
Clones - Coliseum beasts

What's in Sith?
