Thanks Casey! Great score for you and Omni/Corpse as well! I thought for sure someone outside KJ would sneak in considering how high the derby average is; especially when Pandorum got to 2.0 and with my own prediction of 1.7, I was feeling "damn, it'd be suck to have the 11th film hurt me that bad."

It's actually my 9th; still one behind Scott. :)

Actually, you are two behind, I have 11. Anyway, Congrats once again on the great calls.

Congrats Casey on your 3rd place. It is very tough to stand out this week. My score is 90.28% but I rank 90th.

Yeah, No. 314! 5th time I followed a win with a triple-digit ranking, and one of the worst ever especially considering only 441 played.

Congrats Casey! What an 1-2-3 stretch.

Crazy Casey. Crazy awesome that is.

#102. I so hate breaking a good double digit rank streak, and to be so close is sickening.

My accuracy was 89.999

What, still predicting Toy Story, considering it's a two-week engagement? I know a few theaters may keep it, but it's certainly not going to be in the top 10.

BOM seems to be paying far less attention to the film selection these past few weeks.

I bet theaters will just keep it considering it's the better option to keep than Surrogates, Invention of Lying, or anything lower. It technically has a PTA higher than Cloudy right now. I don't think Disney will rip it from theaters, it'll more just suffer from people thinking it's already out because of the advertising.

Basically TS is going to be a derby killer. No idea what it will make next weekend. It should have a HUGE drop next weekend.

I think I will ping Tom Karlo about this.

Someone over at BOM e-mailed Brandon Gray about it, and they confirmed Disney is keeping it in theaters until October 22nd.

Still, since it's advertised as two-week engagement, it should still behave similar to what Hannah Montana concert did on its third weekend, not to mention the direct competition from Where the Wild Things Are.

A new derby record was set this weekend:

Highest average score ever at 85.75%, beating the previous record of 85.59%, set the weekend of 8/5/2005 when Dukes of Hazzard was #1. That was the only opener and the lowest grosser was The Island at 3.1m.

And I assume it also set a record for lowest standard deviation considering the high scores this time are actually lower than the 2005/Aug weekend?

Good question - I currently only have all the mass data through the end of 2008 but the st. dev. of the 8/5/05 game was actually an average 10.2% due mostly to a couple scores at/near 0 and a handful of sub-50's.

However the st. dev. of this game with a game-low of 45.7% was a very small 6.61% which would put it at the 5th lowest through the end of 2008. The lowest through 2008 is 5.68% set for the game of 8/16/02, with 387 players, a low of 25.42, a high of just 80.40, and an average of 68.36, and just 4 scores under 50%. That's the only game through 2008 with a sub 6% st. dev.
