 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
Wow, extremely good odds. Can't see it missing $24 million.

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
Seems pretty simple; don't see it breaking to $30m+ or hugely underperforming.

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
I think the trailer looks terrible. And the reviews back it up.

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
Though there is slight concern for the upside surprise, I'm splitting o/u 24.5 for what seems a likely win.
To crack 29.5 it needs more star power than just Vaughn, who is less of a co-lead like in his most popular films than a lead more like in Fred Claus, and who seems to cause overtracking by himself similar to how Ferrell does. It has strong but not dominant female stars and there is no built in fan base. Also it is too raunchy for PG13 and too PG13 for raunchy, and has poor reviews.
To miss 19.5 seems like more of a longshot, and seems unlikely with a solid mix of demographic appeal and the PG13 to Heartbreak Kid's R. It seems like a much more likely date movie than that, with a better mix of relatable situations. The female lead character in HK was a wreck and not in any way sympathetic or very relatable. And Stiller's character was too much of a pushover.

They came down more than 1 hour prior to noon Eastern. I checked before 10 am central which is before 11 am Eastern...

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
My bad.
Hmmm... must have been a lot of bets on one paticular bracket. When that happens they'll pull it down.
That's why it's always best to get your bets in ASAP. It also insures good odds.

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
Glad I didn't put that much money on it. Thought about splitting with the lower one, but went for 24.5-29.5 only. Never thought 30+ would gonna happen

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
Everybody now, Saturday-drop, Saturday-drop!! We're gonna need a massive one.
I put some money on $29 million and up, but not enough to be profitable, just to cut some losses.

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
Damnit, I can't believe it's going to make $29m+. Here's hoping for a massive drop and $24.5-29m this weekend.

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
One of the biggest "never-seen-it-coming" opening for me.

 Re: BETTING ODDS: Couples Retreat
It was the PG-13, comedy, only new release that did it. Plus it had both sexes interested... although I still think the trailer sucks.
