If the Toy Story double feature makes $14 m this weekend, here is what the Toy Story film totals would look like unofficially (as the numbers may or may not be added to them):

Toy Story 2 + $7 m = $252,852,179 (Passes $250 m!!!)

Toy Story + $7 m = $198,796,233 (Should pass $200 m eventually!!!)

That's not the way a double feature works... Mojo has always counted the double feature as one movie itself... ie. Grindhouse

That's why I said unofficially. Disney re-releases could work differently though, as it has for past IMAX releases. I'm sure Disney could always split the box office, and allow Toy Story to pass $200 m, and Toy Story 2 to pass $250 m, bringing more buzz to Toy Story 3...

the only way a football game is gonna make a significant difference in BO performance is if it's the playoffs or superbowl.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Whip It, along with some other flops this year with a young female-dominant cast, should cauton movie executives to avoid making these movies and only cast female-oriented movies if the cast is middle-aged or older.

The game would effect it A LOT.

But the game is on Monday.

Well it has certainly been a hard year for films with a young female dominated cast:

I Love You Beth Cooper $14,800,725
Jennifer's Body $13,525,760
Sorority Row $11,001,080
Post Grad $6,362,617
Bandslam $5,210,988
Whip It

But then you also had a lot of close to middle aged female led films disappoint quite a bit as well:

Bride Wars $58,715,510
Confessions of a Shopaholic $44,277,350
Duplicity $40,572,825
New in Town $16,734,283
Love Happens $16,133,055
My Life in Ruins $8,665,206

And then you a male led rom com disappoint as well:

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past WB (NL) $55,250,026

I think overall it was quite a tough year for the demo with some major stand outs (The Proposal, Julie and Julia, The Ugly Truth). But has we have seen in past years, these films can also do really well. Many of the films with younger stars listed were going to flop anyhow regardless of age. They could have added male stars and I still think many of them would have flopped.

September was terrible. Nothing but Cloudy passed 50m and only TP was the other to pass 40 and Steve for 30.
Terrible month. Everything passed 10m so far though, except Whiteout a few thousand away and Pandorum which will not get to 10m.
This is in relation to the girl cast or whatever since most were released during the last month, the ones that flop I mean.

As bad as September box office was, it was still the 2nd biggest September ever, and was just $11 m away from being the biggest September box office ever. It's a very slow month where not much usually happens...

I got up this morning wanting to see Toy Story so I got ready about 0945 this morning and was finished by 1000 only to check and see the first showing of it was at 1000 and not 1030 like it was Friday. I debated a short bit if I should go or not and decided to see it later at my fav theatre.

I get to my fav place at 1224 just in time to catch the 1230 showing only to discover it was freaking sold out. Sold out because it's in one of the smaller theatres while they put this in one of the two grand auditoriums...

What a WASTE OF SPACE.
