Who cares if a couple posters left recently? Who needs them exactly? Maybe move on and stop referencing it? Clearly the forum is changing a bit, and those who keep complaining should just deal with it. No big deal.

Well, it can't be the "future" with leftovers and quitters. And then it's just a clone of other forums, so it's going to fail right there, or at least keep it from growing. Nothing new to attract anyone outside posters from the forum they all came from. So they are all doing it wrong in every way possible.

Someone needs to learn SEO. I doubt any are capable of doing it effectively though.

Apparently there's a merge happening with Filmgasm so I wouldn't say that's totally true.

Anyway, my plan is to post at both places. I won't be in The Water Cooler much at all, though.

It's not all angry and bitter...ideally, like I said, I'd like to post at both places and think KJ and this new forum can coexist without nastiness.

Yeah, I knw about the merge. But that's only adding more members who all came from the same place. It'll increase forum activity, but it's still just a clone which can't exactly grow. Is the goal to be a copycat more or less or to provide content not found on mirror forums and grow? A merge with a mirror forum to increase it's members isn't exactly doing anything. If a slightly bigger forum userbase is what everyone wants though, that's cool. I think filmgasm has around 30 or so regulars, so it'll increase the current activity.

And make sure those doing the merge back up the database before they begin. And one huge problem people run into when merging forums is that each forum must have the same modifications. So, you'll have to either install all the mods that one forum has, but not the other, or delete all of the mods all together or you'll keep getting errors when merging.

There are enough angry and bitter people there, and that's all that matters. I can't see a merge working out, either. That sounds like a disaster just waiting to happen. I understand where loyal is coming from, and I don't blame him one bit, but the human resources he's using have too many cancers in them. I left that forum quickly when I saw it was the same nasty negative energy coming from people who have done nothing but spread that kind of love here and elsewhere. People can say they'll be friendly and open to newcomers, but when it contradicts years of how they've actually been, just coming for their own cliques and not being bothered with anything else, that doesn't go far. I mean, jujubee is a mod? Didn't her horrible job here as a mod, and her nasty disposition toward several people, show people the light? I can see many problems with that on the horizon. Torrino's tact will be the least of the problems!

Is loyal going to rely on mainsite content to draw people to the forum? I'm sure loyal will treat his contributers better than this place did, but that's not going to get it done. For one, consistensy from contributers won't happen free of charge.

If loyal is listening out there, I'm going to give him some smart advice if he really wants success. Look around at the successful movie forums, and what do they ALL have in common? It's not articles and opinions and analysis, it's a DATABASE. Find your niche in that department, and it won't matter how many poison pills you have running around the forum, you'll always be able to kick them out and replace them with multiples.

That's a lot of work, and more than anybody with no power there will be willing to do, but it's the only chance of the kind of success that you seem to want. Otherwise, there are too many uninteresting and suspect characters roaming that forum to compensate for the very few good ones, and nobody is going to be pining to be a part of that. I'm not trying to be a downer, just talking reality of the beast.

Harry better heed this warning not to piss off his userbase with that merge. Isnt it anywhere from a quarter of that forum dont like Torri at all.

I think he sometimes gets a bad rap because he acts before he thinks a lot. He's not a retard like box is, but he certainly does seem to consort with that ilk more than he should. I wasn't here for his administration, so I can only speculate what went wrong, but why would filmgasm dislike him?
