Congrats Chip! Wonderful score.

Pretty happy myself considering I had to predict early and got the top two openers backward.

At this time of morning, that's ridiculous. I expect several will miss this week now, too.

Put it this way... It's like working at a really laid back job with laid back managers...

You're usually a little late for your shifts, but they don't mind... but then they have a bad day, you're late and BAM fired.

Don't be late. That is the lesson.

They clearly need to set an ACTUAL deadline, not one that can be closed up to 4 hours after the one they list. The least they could do is when the game is closed, is to also close the entry page so people won't think it's not closed yet.

We even finished "early" this morning. Last week there were still a small batch who submitted after us (well after 5am ET), so this week dozens probably missed it.

They simpley need to expand the deadline and then stick to it. If they finish it at the time it is supposed to finish my only chance as an international player is to submit early, in fact so early that I don't get many of the theater counts which puts us internationals in a big disadvantage, I don't see the harm in setting the deadline at 3 am PT, there aren't any numbers out then

I'm afraid I don't understand: final theater counts and Wednesday numbers are always available on the net about 8 hours prior to the derby's given deadline, and that 8 hours is the same no matter where you live, so where does the international issue arise?

It has been already told so many times. Final theater counts and Wednesday numbers are only available by late night in Europe cause of time difference. And actual deadline is early morning when most of people have something other to do.

Same issue here. I don't know the exact time, but I know it's very late, early morning hours when theatre counts and wednesday numbers are released for Omni. So when this happens, many international players end up missing the deadline unless they get up in the middle of the night to check the theatre counts/wed numbers and then predict. Which is dumb.

Ok so the issue is having to either stay up a little late or get up a little early for you all, not that you somehow don't have the numbers well in advance of midnight pacific.

Honestly, if the norm for BOM is to unofficially extend the deadline well past midnight, they should change the official deadline 6 am Friday and then cut it off at that time sharp every contest. I don't like the idea of unofficially or accidentally extending.

But regardless of when the deadline is, clearly some will always have an 'advantage' over others based on timezones and personal schedules.

The bottom line for me is cut the game off exactly when you advertise that you're cutting it off so everyone knows what they need to do to get their prediction in on time.

Which they did.

It was cut off at midnight, pacific time. The same time it states EVERY WEEK.

Good fucking lord.

It was a norm for more than two years so for example all Russian players always knew that actual deadline is 3 PM Moscow time. This spring it started changing randomly, most of the time by an hour but now by three hours or even more.

Chip, honestly, I don't even care what pacific time it is, but if you want to have a game not for American players only you have to realize time difference issue.
