Gomorrah - D

Martin Scorcese presents. How about not present us this boring Italian crime film. It was boring to me. It had three stories going on that were loosely connected if that. I wish I had those 2+ hrs back that day.

Ramen Girl - B

Funny. Quirky. A little trying in the beginning because Murphy's character is such a whiny lost girl while hanging around the Ramen shop trying to get the chef to teach her. Plus, her character never learns much if any Japanese despite a year of living in Japan. Is that even possible? I enjoyed it overall though.

Quills - B

I enjoyed it. It swayed from what seemed like a comedy at some points to very serious towards the end. I thought Geoffrey Rush gave a good performance in the lead role.

You were saying? I expected Knowing to be horrible, but I ended up loving every second up until the ending. Still, it's a great film in my opinion. The Great Dictator is funny and well made, what else can you expect from Chaplin. I've seen three of his films so far but I still need to see The Gold Rush...

Madonna Confessions Tour - C

Way to overproduced. Alot of the song performances uninteresting. Perferred the Drowned World dvd 100% more than this thing.

Safehouse - D

Boring. Looked cheap and felt cheap. Uninteresting and I'm upset I even rented it.

I'm sorry you felt that way, I thought Gomorrah was great.

Just watched Breakfast At Tiffany's (B+), and on Saturday night I saw Inglorious Basters (A-).

Pat and Mike. Even with a wonky third act, I enjoyed it far more than the other Hepburn/Tracy conconctions I have seen. The treatment of the Hepburn character is far more humane and progressive than in the other ones.

Double Indemnity - B

I enjoyed the movie. Didn't think it was amazing but it was nicely put together. The acting was good. The forwardness of the insurance agent in the beginning was a bit off putting and maybe unrealistic. Some of the dialogue was kind of cheesy maybe. What's with all the "Baby" usage. Must have been a hot word back in the day.

I finally got to see The Magnificent Ambersons a few days ago. I would love to see Welles' unedited version.

I have a lot of catching up to do. I want to see District 9 and Jennifer's Body before they leave cinemas.

If I were to see one and only one of the two, which would you recommend?

The Mist

I think I gave it an A originally. I re-watched it this morning just to listen to the commentary by Darabont and I have to say his commentary was quite enjoyable. It was a nice blend of talking about certain scenes, set designs, digital insertions and also taking time to talk about and praise actors in his film. I think it's worth a listen.
