Re: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (INTL.) - $615 million
In Germany, Ice Age 3 stands at 8,225,452 admissions after eight weeks now. That makes it:
1. Biggest movie in Germany since Ice Age 2 2. Third-biggest CG animated movie ever in Germany (behind Finding Nemo and Ice Age 2) 3. #24 on the all-time list in Germany (Ice Age 2 is #19)
It also ended up with more admissions this weekend in Germany than Harry Potter despite the latter being two weeks less on release. At least 8.7 million admissions is happening, I'd say.

Seriously, with more 3D screens worldwide in 2012 (which is when I assume Ice Age 4 will arrive), the next film will have a legitimate shot at $1 billion worldwide. Something like $210 million domestically and $790 million OS could happen.

Re: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (INTL.) - $615 million
At No. 2 on the weekend was Fox's "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," which grossed $15 million derived from 5,500 locations in 51 markets. Fox said the animated film's Italian debut ($10.8 million from 900 sites for a lusty $12,000 per-screen average) was the year's biggest weekend opening in any market and the distributor's biggest market bow to date. "Ice Age's" overseas cume is $635.2 million, making the threequel the seventh-biggest international boxoffice hit in industry history. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... e478f00545

It'll surely beat HP1's 657m now, 670m may be in reach too.

Simply mindblowing. Will easily do $30+M there. It did 15M this weekend! Last weekend it did 14M and was at $614M+$15M = 629M . So it did around 5-6M on weekdays. Great. This is so going to do $675-680M. Hell I won't be surprised if it cracks 700M overseas. For that the legs will have to be good in italy. Worldwide it will beat TF2!!! Highest grossing film of the year overseas and 2nd highest grossing film worldwide so far. *Edit* On an unrelated note NATM2 has cracked 400+M worldwide thanks to Japan. $232.6M overseas+$176.4M= $409.0M wordwide

It's still doing pretty good here in Germany - don't know yet whether IA3 could hang onto the Top Five. Expect at least $5m more from Germany until the end of the run...

Yep, estimates are in: IA3 stays at No. 4 in its 9th weekend with 100,000 admissions sold, new total: 8.38m admissions = the tenth biggest film of the decade...
It has still three weeks to go until UP takes away its 3D screens...

Still holding well in China, and now only 5m yuan ($0.73m) behind HP6's total.

Yay!
It's great to know that this film has been seen by 1/100 of the Earth's population.
This movie is like 4th best thing that ever happened to human being.
I hope next film passes $1,200,000,000 internationally.

Ice Age 3 is just 72k adm from passing 2M adm in Poland. Stunning. ( This series behaves very similar to Shrek series in Poland. I won't be suprised when Madagascar 3 will make around 2.2M when it's released. It's as popular as Shrek and Ice Age )

Considering Ice Age 3's OS success, I sense $550+ million OS for Madagascar 3.

It'll be lucky to get $450 million overseas, in my opinion.
Now Finding Nemo 2, should they ever make it, would get $750+ million overseas, I'm sure.

Well, Ice Age 3 looks to stay flat in Germany this weekend and should be at over 8.5 million by the end of the weekend. In a few weeks it'll pas Finding Nemo and Ice Age 2 and break into the all-time Top 20 in Germany becoming the biggest hit in Germany since 2004. If it weren't for Up opening in two weeks here and taking its 3D screens, I believe it could have become the biggest hit since ROTK here.

Quote: The year's biggest foreign grosser so far, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," added $10.8 million, drawn from 5,000 screens in 39 markets, to its international total of $657.5 million. Distributor 20th Century Fox says the animation title is now the fourth largest overseas grosser in industry history, and is on pace by the middle of the week to take the No. 3 all-time spot -- preceded only by 1997's "Titanic" ($1.242 billion) and 2003's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" ($742 million). Well, it's a lock for $680 million now. Chances at $900 million worldwide are slim, but it is a remote possibility.
