My top 10 from the above poll choices:

Amelia
Bright Star
Broken Embraces
An Education
The Hurt Locker
Invictus
Nine
Precious
A Serious Man
Up

Though I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 or 3 major contenders that have yet to show themselves.

As in hasn't shown footage, or hasn't found distribution yet?

Any of those, or it just hasn't piqued any Oscar watchers' interest yet. Slumdog didn't have a distributor until the end of very end of August, and Juno hadn't been mentioned as a contender until right before Toronto, IIRC.

Is The Last Station still coming out this year? I had Giamatti and Plummer on my Oscar ballot for supporting actor but took them off to add Christoph Waltz.

Some people say that on IMAX 3D it was in some places blurry and not crisp. Some say that it may be due to the fact that some imax theatres don't have digital projection. Is it true?

I hope when I go watch it in december on imax 3d it will be the best experience.

A SERIOUS MAN
INVICTUS

agreed.

Inglourious Basterds as well. its RT is high enough, box office strong enough, plot subject Oscar-y enough.. presuming at least a few of the current contenders turn out to be disappointments, it should manage to get in. In a couple of months, I presume I'll be able to say the same thing about Wild Things.

Just outside: Amelia, Inglourious Basterds, Where the Wild Things Are, Tree of Life, Broken Embraces

this 10 nominee thing makes it really hard to pin this category down so early.

I now have INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS replacing STAR TREK. BASTERDS is just too big to ignore and everyone seems to love it.

Looks like reviews shouldn't be a problem for A Serious Man, at least:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/fil ... 1405.story
http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117941 ... id=31&cs=1
http://www.screendaily.com/festivals/to ... 69.article

I've been cautiously predicting it for a while, though this gives me more confidence.
