That is fuckin mean. I am 100% behind Avatar except the boxoffice. That doesn't make me a hater.

LadiesMan is yours.

BTW, I know I'm part of the "hater" side, but I'm still 100% hyped for this film. I'm just not convinced of its $300m prospects, and I'm convinced it will make no where near $400m. I need a trailer. Now.

The other thing , now that I think about it and as probably other s have mentioned, Almost all of the most recent blockbusters have come from rich and well established source materials (Books, TV, Comics, World events/ Disasters, ECT.) Here we have something totally new with no reference points and it's Scifi with a little romance between an alien and a man dressed up like one. Yeah I'll eat this shit up and be there for Avatar Day as well as a Midnight opening, but it's going to be much harder to convince my wife the way she had to convince me to go see Titanic.

That's why we have so many adaptations, sequels and remakes. Studio heads think just like you. ;)

While being more of an effort original IPs can be just as successful if done really well and generating great WOM.

That may be true but I guess what I really saying is if it ends up being one of the best grossing movies of all time great we need a new and exciting IP, but the signs right now don't point to that if even half of that.

What is an "IP"???

Intellectual Property OR Internet Protocol.

If you are somewhat smart then you will know what IP means in Avatar's case.

Ah, ok!

I thought it meant Immuno Precipitation, an antibody-based protein extraction technique.

No, he did. I'd say the same of Kong and arguably some shots of Gollum as well.

This is probably about on Hulk (2003) level. I hope it isn't the finished product.

Come on, people, that's not even official material, someone put that together using the "half-face" teaser poster...

Am I the only person that thought King Kong's CGI was pretty overrated?

But yeah, I'll wait until Avatar Day to judge the work here (Assuming there isn't a 2D bootleg leaked beforehand).
