The point kypade is the forum doesn't recognize the different types of members a forum normally has.

The only type of forum member that really counts to the users is the forum members who contribute something interesting.

Other than that how are people expected to be paid respect or value?

How is someone with ZERO posts supposed to be treated the same as Kypade, or indeed Lecter for example? Someone who on a daily basis makes dozens of contributions to a variety of topics.

The basic effort factor of engaging other users is enough to make anyone who posts regularly a first class citizen to those who don't bother's second.

Yeah I don't get this. I've been browsing the forums at Television Without Pity for probably about five years now and have never made a post there. If that site was holding some sort of moderator election, I wouldn't feel insulted if I weren't permitted to vote.

You don't have to respect them if you don't want to, but they are still a valued member of the forum.

This has nothing to do with being "treated" or showing "respect" or whatever, it's about recognizing they are still a member just like you or me. Not saying anyone who little to no posts who never visit again after joining or only visit once a month, but the regulars like this (used bronZe as an example because I see him online all the time).

I don't see why someone like him shouldn't be allowed to participate in forum activity such as elections, poster awards, new layout vote, or anything of the sort. If they feel like Libs, that's fine of course, but we shouldn't be making that decision for them. Instead just leave it open for them.

This close family stuff that's been mentioned is garbage when you exclude a large chunk of posters who visit daily and have been for years, but only have a few dozen, few hundred, or no posts

The simple reason for them not being allowed to vote in elections for a mod or administrator is obviously because someone can just create multiple accounts and get someone elected?

As far as I know, there hasn't been a restriction for these "low-key" members in things like Poster/Movie awards, but they still do not vote.

as far as i know, any dramas in the WC have stayed in the WC. While things like Mav, Argos, Grill, Chip have terrorised nearly every thread they've been in.

i know some people have nearly known each other for quite a long time, but none of you signed on with the expectation to make friends (except Munkey).

Nah, I unfortunatly lost some interest mid way through this second phase. I didn't keep up with vote totals, and I even forgot to vote for myself like yoshue and half the other candidates did. Whoops.

And it's slightly frustrating having the same posters with power again and again, getting nothing done and having the same discussions that began years ago over and over as well. Knowing one year from now, the same posters will be dominating the discussions of the same topics again, and nothing new had happened.
