:noway:

Jesus. That's big.

Yep, very big indeed. $400m is guranteed with $450m likely now.

Depending on how Potter hits it, it may have a shot at the $475m mark. I still don't seen $500m though.

Why are the Ice Age films so popular overseas exactly? Just as popular as Shrek it seems.

Ice Age 3's total is now $447m+, enters the Top 100 WW and sits at around #90.

It will probably end up with $170m + $450m = $620m, not too far off Ice Age 2's $651.9m.

Germany estimate:

1,575,000 admissions (7th best 2nd weekend of all-time)
4,050,000 admissions (12 day total - 8th biggest CGI Animation ever)

down 7 % compared to 5 day opening weekend but up 8 % compared to regular 4 day opening weekend!

That's massive  , 7m admissions for sure. I knew it was going to rebound in weekend 2 after a lacklustre opening.

Arch, I'm pretty sure it'll make way more than $450 million OS and will easily pass Ice Age 2. Even if it drops 50% next weekend OS, it'll still be above $400 million after only three weeks.

IA3 easily crosses 500m+ OS in an empty marketplace like March. I think it duplicates IA2 OS at least. Shrek 3 did get close to the 2nd, despite Pirates 3 on its way.

I wonder if sequels to well-liked original films are just always destined to explode overseas? I mean, part of it is the natural expansion of the foreign markets in recent years, but the overseas gross for the original Ice Age was nothing to write home about.

I wonder how Pixar sequels would do internationally.

Ice Age 3 dropped hard in Russia but huge midweek sales really helped it.

6,350,819 admissions. after 12 days,
1,073,090,444 Russian roubles = something like 33-33.5 mln. in USD.

1,101,105,615 Russian roubles so Ice Age 3 nearly beat in local currency in 12 days

Yes, but they are mostly on Russian only.

Here you can find last week
http://www.kinometro.ru/box/show/region/ru/week/0
third column number of copies
4th weekend gross in roubles and USD
5th total gross in roubles and USD
6th average gross per screen
7th column weekend admissions
8th column total admissions

Another one more detailed chart but on Russian only.
http://www.np-anko.ru/box/ (this week)

On the second site you can find also data archive for weekend numbers since 2004 except for some minor distributors.

5 day OW in Poland was 489k adm.
After 12 days it at 1.013m adm.

If it will keep this pace then I can see another 2m adm. animation movie this year after Madagascar 2.

In Germany, Ice Age 3 is heading for around 750,000 admissions this weekend (Potter obviously hit it HARD). That'd put it at around 5.2-5.4 million admissions by the end of the weekend. 7 million is certainly happening.

It grossed more in its first week in China than Ice Age 2 grossed in total: 37.5m yuan ($5.5m), Should break 100m yuan and make over $15m.

IA3 had a major comeback on Saturday and now it looks like that 3rd weekend with 1m admissions will be the 8th best third weekend of all-time. New total should be 5.6m by Sunday...

According to BOM, IA3 is at $429,062,000. That is around 107M over last 7 days. Just out of this world. It looks like coasting past 500M and even 550M.
