Your answer won't change the way I feel about this subject because I think that when religion is involved people will convince themselves into thinking things that aren't true, but would you say you are happier with your life now or when you were celibate? Try and forget about things like bills and school or what have you, and just about your general happiness.
makeshift. you missed the point of my post. I said I STILL believe in it. No one is making me believe in this thing. I believe it for myself. in some ways, it even echos some of the arguments we've been trying to make .. giving into a temptation brought about by an abstinance, either forced or chosen.
Am I happier? i'm assuming you're asking me to reply back in respect to my celibacy or lack of. Yes and no. We can move to PM if you wish. This is the first time in real life or otherwise i've ever mentioned this. I have no desire of making anymore of it public.

Yup, thanks for clarifying.
The way I see it, I really think there are people who want to and do remain celibate.
If it is not possible, there is no reason why it should lead to rape or child abuse. Hammer in into their brains that this is illegal and immoral, and that it will cost them heavily in this and the other world. More to the matter, do not allow for there to be an environment where advantage can be taken of kids, ever.
If a priest is having difficulties with remaining celibate, let them leave. Yes, this is radical, but you know what? It will require radical steps to clean this mess up. If the must have sex, I'm sure there are plenty of brothels where that can be taken care of. Obviously, I don't expect the Church to advocate that, but let them know which is the greater evil.
Keep your hands off the kids, and if you can't, we'll lock your sick ass up and make sure you'll keep them to yourself.
While we're at it, why don't we address those sick perverts who disguise themselves in the suburbs as caring fathers and husbands an on the side brutally abuse and mistreat innocent children? I have no sympathies for sick, perverted men (or women), and less for those who give them the chance to act out their fantasies.
This is such a sad topic. M heart goes out to those kids.

But do you really believe that is a reason priests molest little boys?[/quote]
I think it might have something to do with it for some of them. I don't think it's the reason, and I think it probably has nothing to do with some of the cases.

Ok...I see what your saying...but why?
I mean...wanting to bang a woman...or hell even if your a gay priest...wanting to bang a man, is a little different than HIDING, and molesting a little boy...is it not?

Like i mentioned, its a desire amongst those who may question. and even desire does not always lead to an act.If it is not possible, there is no reason why it should lead to rape or child abuse. More to the matter, do not allow for there to be an environment where advantage can be taken of kids, ever. true ... but again, i'm not saying it should or shouldn't. But i can certainly see the symptons. Its how we see on tv that if a wife dies and the couple had marital problems, hes automatically a suspect. I find that ridiculus but hey ... doesn't always lead to it but could ...If a priest is having difficulties with remaining celibate, let them leave. Yes, this is radical, but you know what? I agree much like i also agree with makeshift that marriage should be allowed but only cause i dont see a harm in it.Keep your hands off the kids, and if you can't, we'll lock your sick ass up and make sure you'll keep them to yourself. Yup, you chose a life. whether you're tempted or not, you chose it and you will live with it. I just think that when something is taken away from you, no matter what it is, you're going to have urges to act out. Unfortunately these men are already messed up and choose to act out their urges on little boys.

only if you wish too .. i'm not one for discussing my own private thoughts and private life with others : )
but i'm ok with it if it is in the context of what is being discussed right now.

aaah but there you go. makeshift and i both dont believe it to be the only reason. some guys ARE just sick perverts. some come to this lifestyle due to different reasons. All we're saying is that if celibacy did not exist, it would help. : )

Oh, I think you can extend it as well, definitely. Pedophiles appear in all social roles/situations. I just picked what I think is a major example.
Btw, I don't think marriage is harmful either, necessarily. I think both sides have their advantages. Ultimately, it's a matter of choice.

Do you think marriage or monogomous relationships are harmful?

Well, this is a completely different topic that I really don't want to get into in this thread, but no, I don't think marriage is a good thing. Monogomous relationships are fine, but I have some issues with marriage. Marriage is certainly better than molesting a child, though, which seem to be our two choices here.

Marriage for these Guys WOULD curb alot of the problems with Molestation since these Priests are constantly around young boys, Alter Boys more often, there more susceptible than say if there with an Older Woman.. Lovemerox doesn't know what he's talking about..
