Personally, by the way, I have already three movies I'll definitely vote for as Best Picture: Spider-Man 2, Closer and Kill Bill Vol. 2. Need to think more about the other two, though.

I really hope people are going through the FYC thread. There's some great films out there that I know are going to get passed over.

Good, thanks Mark! :)

Lovemerox just replied that he'll get in his votes as soon as possible.

My votes will be just around the deadline.

Hopefully, Maverikk doesn't forget to submit his.

I pm'ed MikeQ a few days ago and he said he will have a ballot ready by Thursday. I also pm'ed Riggs27 and Snrub and a number of other people who saw a lot of movies in 2004, judging from their posts in "2004 movies in review" thread.

I hope Saw gets nominations, too. It deserves it, especially for Best Horror.

xiayun, matatonio, or Maverikk: Can I place an actress of the same performance in Best Actress AND Best Supporting Actress, to cover both categories, so that I have a vote going towards both incase some people voted for her in leading, and some supporting? I don't want to accidently vote in the category that less people voted in, and then this actress lose out because of the split.

PEACE, Mike ;)

Judging from your movie grades, I assume you're talking about Natalie Portman in Garden State. Vote her in Supporting. That's what we decided and what most people are voting her in (whether it's enough to get her nominated will soon be revealed  ). You can certainly vote her in both categories, but one vote will be wasted, and if you find another actress worthy of Best Actress nomination, having that one vote might be important.

I would say that you have to pick one or the other. It wouldn't be fair to vote for the same performance in two different categories.

Let's say for arguments sake I decide to nominate some films.

As I read the first post in this thread, I see what the categories are. It does not tell me how many films to nominate in each category, or who to send my nominations to.

Anyone care to enlighten me?

5 nominees for each category except best horror, comedy and animated (those just 3)
you can send it to Maverikk, xiayun or Me (matatonio )

Just sent my votes in (no worries, Lecter! ;)).

I don't feel mine are totally complete (haven't seen The Aviator, Sideways, Ray, Bad Education, etc.), but that's fine. I'm sure they won't need my help getting their silly little nominations. :p

I want everyone to know that after I was done filling in Saw, Shaun of the Dead and Million Dollar Baby for all applicable and sensible categories, I used the "FYC" thread many times. A little heads up surprise: Bryce Dallas Howard got a nomination from me for The Village, for making that movie tolerable. That says a lot, and major kudos to her.
