 (500) Days of Summer (500) Days of Summer Quote: (500) Days of Summer is an upcoming 2009 American romantic comedy film. It is directed by Marc Webb, produced by Mark Waters, and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. This is Gordon-Levitt and Deschanel's second movie together (following Manic). Principal photography began in April 2008 in Los Angeles, California. The film is scheduled by Fox Searchlight Pictures for limited release on July 17, 2009. Its full release in Australia will be on October 1, 2009.

Re: (500) Days of Summer I have to say, I loved this film. A lot can go wrong in this particular sub-genre of romcom but (500) Days of Summer is a winner from start to finish (or was it end to beginning).
It's really creative and takes several chances which all pay off for the audience (musical sequences, arthouse homage, split screens). Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who should be a leading man by now Hollywood) and Zooey Deschanel (SHE SINGS) were perfectly cast.
A+
One of the year's best films.

Re: (500) Days of Summer Joseph Gordon-Levitt has no one to blame but himself. Nobody forced him to give the most irritating, mannered and amateurish performance in the history of movies in The Lookout.
If I could strip SAG cards from 10 actors, he'd totally be one of them.

Re: (500) Days of Summer I thought it was funny that the audience was 95% female (as opposed to Bruno which was also screening next door with 95% male). This film does not leave one with a great impression of the female species (the POV is male through and through). And while I loved Zooey's work in the film, I kinda hated many of the things her character did.
Oh and the soundtrack was great. The Doves, Belle and Sebastian, The Smiths.
