KING KONG - Logo. What do you think?
If the link is broken: http://latinoreview.com/films_2005/univ ... -logo.html
That is rubbish. i expected better, esp from the LOTR director. Shame on you Mr. Jackson.

What's wrong with it? I for one like the font. Besides, it's just a logo...

if anyone's having trouble with the broken link, try: http://www.theonering.net/scrapbook/view/15306
i think it's quite plain. on the other hand, the texture + colour of the letters gives it a "golden age of cinema" feel. it's classic, without looking old or dated. from the hoo-hah around here, tho', i expected something far more shocking!!

I have to say that I do not find this impressive in the least and does border on Sucking.... One can only hope the finished product, film wise, is nothing like the Logo???

The font is perfect for this type of film. It's based on a classic story and it doesn't need to punch it's viewer in the face with creepy, metallic, cracked stone , cheesy "B" monster movie fonts.
The font embodies and is inspired by many elements of original film. It's time period, with the 1930's deco style which says "NEW YORK", the sepiatone that gives a sense of age and old Hollywood, the slightly weathered rugged texture of the font (Much like Kong himslef).
I guess we should have written off "Jaws" or "Halloween" also for their use of simplistic fonts.

Hey, you never know.. That 5-10% just might rear it's ugly head with this movie.. Hell, even the BEST Directors including Spielberg and Lucas have had an occasional dud.. Lucas had his "Howard the Duck" and Spielberg had his Lost World: Jurassic Park and The Terminal suck for him, so at some point, Jackson will fall right into this slump and it could very well be KONG.. Will see..

TRUE ENOUGH
however it is
MOST
unlikely that Jackson will unleash his Howard The Duck 2005 right off the back of LOTR
AS PREVIOUSLY STATED!
Jackson is obviously in a purple patch
expect a few excellent films from him over the next few years
ANY DUDS WILL PROBABLY COME WHEN HE TRIES ONE BLOCKBUSTER TOO MANY
right now he is still relatively fresh and creative orchestrating vast movies like Napoleon controlling his huge armies in his hey-day

Mates, granted that all of your concerns and praises are taken into account, but really, given that the original KK is what inspired him to make movies, I would say that this is his 'passion' and most people desire their passion to be perfect. I think PJ will go over everything concerning this film like one who would count every grain of sand in an endless desert. When I had words of him during the filming of LOTR, he even talked about Kong then. I do not think this will be one of his films that will flop. There will be some in the future possibly, but not this time preciousss
In the end, regardless of what we think, time will tell and so will we when the film is released.
