Quote: (3) Assistant Moderators: Haku888, harry713, John Savage - The duties of an assistant moderator involves basic forum needs. Such as locking a thread or sticking a thread. Assistant Moderators however do not have the power to warn members or edit posts/signatures unless the post/signature is in clear violation of the rules. So... a BRAND NEW member, a member hardly anyone likes, and a douche... will be in charge of locking threads? Sounds awesome!

In charge of locking channels and judging spheres they have yet to see.

Re: WoKJ Admin Election - Admin Finalists Revealed!!!!
Corpse, I'd rather keep all the chatter and debate in this thread. You asked about Argos and Christian for the umpteenth time. Here was my response to the question one of the three times you asked it: torrino wrote: Corpse wrote: I've asked torrino why he chose them knowing this, or at least, what he thinks of their past actions here AT KJ, but I haven't received a response yet. It's one of the questions Im going to ask in detail. ME wrote: ]Actually, if you look at the first thread Eagle created, I had told Argos I would be interested in having him on my cabinet. This was when he was still running.
Argos is a committed, respected member of the forum. Also, we both believe that moderators should be here for the community, as guardians, rather than be here to "control" the community, as Nazis. Also, if you look at Q3 in this very thread, you'll see an "As Argos wrote"...which should imply, I think, respect for Argos' ideas. So, there is a precedent to the Argos choice, kthx. Finally, as I said in this very thread, Magnus approached me about the Argos choice, and the other moderators confirmed it. Even if I were to vote otherwise, the other moderators would outweigh my decision. That is how my administration will always function. Here was another tidbit I wrote about Argos: torrino wrote: I believe Argos can control himself and will be a very approachable moderator. As I've said...we share similar ideas about the amount of "police-ing" to do around here...and we've complimented each others' ideas in the past.
Finally, I'm sick of it going around that I "put him" on my team to "get his votes." This was Magnus' idea, not mine. MadGez, Zingaling, and Christian also liked the idea. That would be 4 of the 5 mods (xiayun didn't vote).
And of course I wanted Argos to be allowed to run. I PM'd him immediately after seeing Eagle's decision. Then there was this: torrino wrote: Yes, Corpse, their past does matter. But I value them, as does Zingaling, and we have decided that their intentions and ideas about the forum are inline with our own. We also see them as active throughout the entire forum. They will certainly be monitored for "fishy" behavior, as they will be in a position of authority. Moderators, independent of their written responsibilities, are expected to set an example. However, we do not want moderators to be passive or sterile, either. They should have character. As I said in my original platform post: Quote: - KJ users who are dissatisfied with a moderator's performance may raise claims in "The Site." These claims will be evaluated by moderators publicly, and a warning may be issued. There will be no warning immunity for moderators. These same conditions apply to the administrator. Torrino, should he receive three warnings, will relinquish his administrator title.
- When issues are raised in "The Site," threads will not be closed -- under any circumstance -- unless the thread in question is created for the sole purpose of bad-mouthing a user.
- torrino and Zingaling will manage a thread where members can evaluate moderator performance.

Corpse is cracking.
He can't even handle an election.
By continuing to run, you will force the core of KJ to become extremely active in voting against you.

I'm disappointed with a lot of you. I expected this from some, but it's sad to see nonetheless.

Re: WoKJ Admin Election - Admin Finalists Revealed!!!!
Over the past few weeks, many of you have contact me in private and explained what an awful idea this was, what a farce it would become and how I would regret my decision. I had a different opinion, I had faith in the user base, and I thought them capable of acting as adults.
I did this because it's the only way the forum can remain. I can think of 10 outstanding candidates for this job, but no one wants the job. It's thankless: you're forced to deal with smart, intelligent posters who choose to transpose their negative emotion onto others using this forum. They do so in such a hateful and demeaning manner that it breeds a negative emotion that festers, an emotion that has driven off so many of the best this place had to offer. The quality that remains comes far less often, only able to stand what's left in small doses.
I chose to give this forum to it's users. From the beginning, it's been designed as a home for those who were displaced, and I wanted to give that home back to the users, let them collectivelly run it as they wished and elect whomever they wanted. During this process, many have gone out of their way to say how foolish the process is, and ironically, it's many of those same users who act in a way that undermines the outcome, creating the idiocy that has overcome this election. But the election must continue, this forum has no future without it.
Torrino, you specifically have shown poor judgement, and you've acted with a lack of respect toward your fellow candidate. You're intelligent, yet arrogant. Smart, yet ignorant. Witty, yet daft. You're young and it shows. You played into this charade when I need you most to help dissipate it.
I still think both candidates are fully capable of running this forum. I think they're both very similar: both are smart, and both have a past. Growth and change are two of the most important aspects of life, we will all make mistakes, it's how we move forward that matters. I hope both candidates are able to reflect back and grow from this situation, the forum needs you both.
