If you all didn't know Argos would be disqualified before the final, then that's your own fault.

Either way, I can understand why many won't be happy with this decision. I understand it, I accept it. Your voices were taken away from you in a process designed to grant you a voice, somewhat hypocritical.

I created this process to give users a say, and by no means is the process perfect. Once finished, I fully intend to step back, learn from it, and revamp it for next year. I wanted to allow those running a chance to make their case before deciding, I did so and made a decision I felt was in the best interest of the forums.

I think Argos could make a fine admin, but his past also makes me wonder about his plans for the job. In short, I'm just not 100% comfortable with him becoming admin at this time. The argument about when to remove candidates is a valid one, and it's something I'll have to revisit later. For now, the process is the process and we'll continue accordingly. For the future, we'll talk more.

In any event, this process is not 100% democratic, and from the start I have reserved the right to do what I felt necessary to ensure the person elected will take the job seriously. With Argos I wasn't 100% sure, and I couldn't allow him to continue. I apologize to anyone who feels wronged, that was not my intent.

That's kinda funny, considering the scandals that torrino and Corpse have been involved with! Could you imagine if this was a real electric with media coverage and digging for dirt on the candidates?

I don't care what happens with this, but I think either candidate would be a much needed no nonsense, no bullshit, administrator, and that would be a great change of pace from what's been running the show around here. Whether you like either of them or not, what you see is what you get, and that's not what's been in charge at KJ. At least from my own perspective. (and judging by the boards, several others)

Having a past does not disqualify you, that past is something you need to explain to the voters, not me. However, I do need to feel comfortable in the seriousness of each candidacy. I have no reservations that both torrino and corpse will take the job seriously, I couldn't say the same about Argos.
