Ripper, admit it. Scarlett is different. She might be "white" and "thin", but to compare her to say Katie Holmes, Jennifer Garner, and Britney Spears is wrong. She's got a completely different look than most people out there.

Thing is. This list is a reflection of how there hasn't been much IN the entertainment world outside the standard white, thin woman. Although there's J. Lo, Salma Hayek, and others that have met the popularity of the "white" women on this list, many others haven't yet broken out...

Scarlett is different in that she isn;t rail thin, she actually has curves, part of why I like her, and she has more talent and personality then Spears, but her inclusion doesn't make the list any less dull...Scarlett is the movie geek's pinup.

There are plenty of women in the entertainment world outside of "white" and "thin", but colelctively apparently the members of this board have no interest in them.

Jennifer Garner has a very different look than Scarlett Johannson, whos face is so soft and vanilla that she really dosen't have a distinguishing feature at all. The same argument your making can be made in a different direction from someone with different preferences.

PLUS, you guys shunned

are you all BLIND, MAD, or just BLINDed by some sort of lolitta teenage fantasy that requires hot women to be under 26?

That's exactly the attitude I don't like, does the fact that you are all young white males mean that only young white females are attractive to you?

I would say in general, yes. Wouldn't you agree that people are normally attracted to people that look like them? I'm not saying this is the case for me (like I said, I don't really like the top ten, either), but in my experiences, as shitty as it sounds - it's true.

I was hoping that wasn't the case, but apparently it is, and so when it comes to anything along hte lines attractive women around here, I am not interested in being involved.

For someone not interested in being involved, you sure have made your opinion loud and clear several times.

I am not saying I expected this list to be complete diverse, but at least one or two interesting people on it...something.

If you don't find a single girl on that list interesting, then, well.... I don't know what to say. I find that pretty ridiculous and in a lot of ways, just as close minded as you perceive the people that made the list to be.

I merely wanted to state my disappointment, in the end y'all can pick whoever you want. It doesn;t really matter to me, I spend less and less tiem here anyway.

It doesn't really matter to me, either. Like i've said countless times, I don't really like the top ten, also. However, i'm not going to come into the thread and make torri (or anyone else) feel bad for not making it diverse enough when he has no control over the issue. It's not his fault that minorities are not well represented in Hollywood. It's also not his fault that the majority of people that post here are young, white males.

Look - i'm not trying to get into a fight with you over such a petty subject. I just think you were expecting way too much. I knew exactly what that top ten was going to be before I even clicked on this thread. Is that sad? Yes. Does anybody here have to feel bad about it? No.

God forbid I express a dissenting opinion, in the future. i shall keep all further ones to myself . The overall outcome of this thread amtters very little to me, but I did think it was a good place to spark an interesting discussion. Apparently, instead I shouldl go post what color my bra is in the "What Are You Wearing Thread" instead.

Well then forgive me I don't find a single person in the list all that striking. I didn't suggest they wre ugly or unattractive (there are two or three I actually like quite a bit), but when I look at the list i get a very meh, they all seem an awful lot alike feeling and so none of them stand out.

You can feel free to ignore everything I say as ridiculous, including the rest of this post.

The orginal list had alot of variety in it, but whatever, I'm all done with the thread, this entire place is losing interest for me anyway.

I'll never again look at list of hot women at RT and say it lacks diversity.

Calling someone close minded and petty is really not a way to not get into a fight with them, but this is messagebaord and my opinions matters nothing to you, and yours matters nothing to me, so feel free to think of me as petty and clsoe minded.

I didin't say having a different opinion or expressing it is bad. I think it's a good thing. However, you can't say that you have no interest in a thread and then continue to post about how much it sucks in said thread.

The "What Are You Wearing" thread is moronic. I wouldn't expect anyone with a valid and intelligent opinion like yours to post in it.

I agree with you about the list. A lot of them are alike, and I would only call one of the "striking". However, I haven't seen you post a single positive thing about any of the girls in the list yet. You can't expect people to read your mind and know that you actually like some of the girls on the list when you've given no sign or hint that you do.

The orginal list had alot of variety in it, but whatever, I'm all done with the thread, this entire place is losing interest for me anyway.

The original list? Which one?

I'm sorry that you've lost interest in WOKJ. I know the feeling. I lost interest around the holidays, but I took a month long break or so and now I feel better about the place.

I didin't call you petty. I said the argument was petty, which it is. We're discussing a list of "hot" women on an internet message board. Pretty petty.

And believe it or not, your opinions do matter to me. I wouldn't have bothered responding to them if they didin't.

1. Keira Knightley (Levy, Archie Gates, MovieGeek, Algren, Riggs27)
2. Natalie Portman (ChipMunky, matatonio, makeshift_wings, 1 PMer)
3. Scarlett Johansson (box_2005, Goldie, torrino, Eagle, hans, lovemerox)
4. Jennifer Garner (Michael, Mr. X, Zingaling)
5. Jennifer Connely (driveaway)
6. Katie Holmes
7. Kirsten Dunst (Scott Vasquez)
8. Jessica Alba (are-why-a-en, revolutions)
9. Elisha Cuthbert (neostorm)
10. Britney Spears

Soooo...the winner of the '05 award for Fines Female goes to none other than the 3-Time Golden Globe nominee (in the past two years, I might add) Scarlett Johannson. And, if you haven't seen Lost in Translation yet, a screencap from torrino's library might do it for you:

*runs from Ripper and anyone else that might find this offensive*

Keira won the Silver medal (5 votes) and Natalie won the Bronze medal (4 votes). All three are well-deserved; these are actresses that look good in almost every scene.

you have to be kidding me.....

Miss "I wish i was marilyn monroe, but im far to vanilla to ever be that distinctive - oh and unfeasibly young too" won?

No way - im not her biggest fan, she was great in Lost in Translation but shes certainly not the Finest Female in entertainment....Not by a long shot.

You know what? I'm sick of the petulance...

What has Jennifer Garner done? She's great in Alias and was good in 13 Going on 30, but, asides from that, is she worthy of being called the "Finest Female". Look, your uber large campaigning didn't do much as obviously people saw it and STILL thought Johannson, Knightly, and Portman were more worthy.

Was your love for "In Good Company" helped out by Scarlett? :-k Aside from Lost in Translation, Scarlett is merely on the rise, just like Jennifer Garner.

Yes, it was.

She might be on the rise, but she's every bit as good an actress as Garner. And, amidst the Garner campaigning that Michael put out, Johansson still managed to win.

Not everyone feels the same way that myself and Michael did over Jennifer Garner. It's a vote of how many? Most on the list are attractive, anyway. And yes, Scarlett is a great actress, just like Jennifer. Your adoration for Scarlett propells her to the top of your list, much like my adoration for Jennifer propells her on my list. No biggie. Some just like arguing about it more than others.

I second that nom. That's already two, I think the prelim rounds were questionable, I demand a recount. I can't think of one possible excuse outside of vote stacking that would lead to anyone else taking the top spot. :-k

Why do i have to justify every single thing i say on these forums JUST because some people dont agree? Jesus christ. What in my post mentioned Jennifer Garner? - do people think im this kind of Jennifer Garner Promotional Robot that means you can pull up my affiliation with the actress whenever my opinon does not agree with yours?
Michael"I Like Red. It is nice"
Random: " You only like red because Jennifer Garner wore it in Elektra, which suckeeed you fanboy"

"Uber Large Campaign" - the picture of Scarlett Johanssons ass? Need i say any more about the kettle and pot?
I could LIST the women i think are hotter than Scarlet Johnasson; its not just Miss Garner. Sure i think SJ is pretty - but in my book shes just a young actress who has nothing that screams class, sex appeal or distinction.

This whole thread in general is about objectifying young women as some sort of "head stuck to an ass" thing - which is wrong on its own merits - so why shouldn't i complain that theres not enough classy, older and ultimately [imo] sexier women deserving recognition for petruding beauty without being reduced to some picture of her bending over?
Furthermore, an actresses career clearly does not matter to the list, so why bring that up either? Does her lack of credits make her any less beautiful? I think not....

Just forget about it, Michael. I agree, there are some who connect you and anything you say to Jennifer Garner, but I don't. Torrino doesn't. Just don't get so bent out of shape of Jennifer doesn't win everything, or if more attractive women aren't nominated. I think my girlfriend is more attractive than all listed. Doesn't mean I'm going to nominate her, and it doesn't mean certain celebrities are less attractive than this top 10. It's not many people who voted, so just forget the people who just enjoy playing the bully behind their keyboard. Again, many people don't. Take Torrino for instance: he doesn't pick on you, he was merely weighing in on what you said. Just take it easy. Your opinion matters the most to yourself, and that's all that matters.

Uh, I just went to check the original list to see who got whiddled off. Its not there so I'm just gonna check, was Pam Grier anywhere up there?

Image

Anyone see the new Hennessy "Never Blend In" billboard campaign with a shot of her from Coffy? Its stunning, and the entire campaign is one of the only recent well designed campaigns I've seen. I go by it now in Jersey everyday to the PATH station and I get excited everytime I know the billboard is coming up.
