 Re: Twilight (2008)
Christ, it was boring.
That's the major thing walking out. It's not awful; it's not particularly good. The acting's fine. But the whole thing is completely lifeless, drolling on from one scene to the next. I spent the first half (which felt like several hours, and I'm not kidding) wishing for some kind of villain, and then one finally shows up, the reason for his obsession is ridiculous. "I smelled your girlfriend! Now I'm gonna track her until the end of time and kill her!"
And they sparkle? Seriously, writer lady? Really? You're not fucking with me?

 Re: Twilight (2008)
I actually really liked this movie. It was very easy to get drawn into and very entertaining. I thought the leads had great chemistry. It was sexy and sweet. Robert Pattinson is really cute and charming. I loved the look/location. Some of the lines could have easily come off as cheesy but they didn't. I bought them anyway.
I felt the excitement you feel when you get a new crush while watching this relationship unfold. I'm extremely ashamed to admit to enjoying this movie so much, but I did.
I think I'll go with an 8/10 (B+). It's a nicely crafted teen romance. I'm excited for the next installment.

 Re: Twilight (2008)
Well, I just watched TWILIGHT with my sister and I loved it even more than I did the first time. I can't help it. It's actually really well-done, IMO. There are some very nice, intimate moments and it's more romantic than most romance movies that come out. I'm really anticipating NEW MOON. Thank god it comes out this year. I just hope they manage to have Edward in it a lot. I don't like Jacob.
I'm raising my rating to a 9/10 (A-).

I'm raising my rating to a 9/10 (A-). Jacob is sooo much cooler as you get to know him in New Moon though.

OMG, that's the thing, the guy is actually REALLY hot, look him up on google image or whatever, they just make him really ugly for the movie, not sure why. But if he needs to be, they can make him hot. Also it's not his secret so much as who his character becomes as his secret evolves that makes him cool.

 Re: Twilight (2008)
I'm really excited for NEW MOON. It was my personal favorite of the series (though ECLIPSE is definitely the best) and if done right it should make a wonderful movie. Though I really hope they don't have Edward in it more than he is in the book (and from what I hear, he has about the same amount of time as in the book, which is a good thing) because it would just ruin the plot of the movie. It would really ruin it, IMO.

 Re: Twilight (2008)
I went against all my morals and finally saw it.
(Had to.)
To my surprise, it wasn't the worst film of all-time. As a love story, I can kinda see why girls go ga-ga over it (even if I think Edward Cullen is still one creepy mofo' - "I like to watch you sleep, Bella"). In terms of the movie, though, average at best. It spends too much time with Bella and Edward going back and forth, never really having a meaningful connection (due to some lame acting), yet somehow ready to go to the ends of the Earth for each other.
And finally, after something happened at the baseball game, it just ended up being some weird werewolf guy who smelled Bella's hair (probably some nice hair shampoo or something) and decided to ignore the town of Fork and go after her? I don't get it. It didn't even seem like he was wildly attracted to her; he just called her a "snack", was denied by the one Edward Cullen, and all of a sudden it's game over for Bella and all that she loves? Okay.
That said, it could have been a lot worse and it had its moments. So...
**
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna watch The Dark Knight, which should have won the MTV Award for Best Picture.

 Re: Twilight (2008)
Haha, I find it halirious this got bumped on the day I finally purchased it (yeah I know, but I had to, I'm a fan-girl and there's no turning back) It's almost as awful as I remember it being, and every bit as awesome. I don't get what Hardwicke thinks she is doing with the camera angles and bizarre pan-outs to trees. Also the effects are even worse than I remember them being, and the acting is almost (but not quite) as awkward and weak as I recall, even though they get a little chemistry working by the end. However it is still so bad=shamazing. Everything about it shoves down the cynical reviewer in me and ignites the "ommmggah! I wuvvv diss" idiotic fan-boy (maybe I should stick to fan-girl) in me. And the sparkle scene is still one of the funniest moments ever captured on film.

 Re: Twilight (2008)
TWILIGHT
I rented this a while back after skipping it in theatres and at first thought it was a good movie but not much more.
Then maybe I'm getting all caught up in the hype of that New Moon trailer but I got interested in the film again and listened to the audio book of it. The movie is pretty spot on mostly but one thing that you miss in the movie is how ultra obsessive Bella is of Edward. Everytime she sees him she fawns over his eyes or looks or hair. She's comparing him to statues, he's the most beautiful thing ever, his breath cool icy breath and other things. It's pretty endless how infatuated she is with him and the movie didn't convey that.
One scene I would liked to have seen was a conversation that Bill and Bella had that was kind of a mini confrontation.
Overall, I enjoyed this film and enjoy it more after hearing the audio book and have since bought the movie and am working on New Moon.
Grade - A

 Re: Twilight (2008)
I think it's interesting many who never read the books or anything seemed to have enjoyed the film a bit more than those who have read the books.
Now, some who were already fans think the film is the best thing ever, but when you get away from the fanboy, several general fans found it decent, not great. But it's the opposite for those who weren't fans beforehand. Three examples of this just on this very page. It's rather interesting, and will make tracking New Moon even more interesting.
