Re: Star Trek 2 (Summer 2011) predictions
I think it take T4's date if it opens in 2011. If they wait for 2012 it should kick off the summer.
2011- $150M 5-day. $300M total 2012 - $125M opening weekend. $300M total.

2011- $150M 5-day. $300M total 2012 - $125M opening weekend. $300M total. If its 2011, then Memorial Day weekend would be 125m and wouldn't it be a 4-day 150m not a 5-day,(25m Monday)that is if it opens on a Friday, if it opens on Thursday then it would a 5-day.

Re: Star Trek 2 (Summer 2011) predictions
Bumpy bump bump Check this out: http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.p ... 67#2118967Quote: "Star Trek" opens at number one with 5.1 million units, the third largest first week sales of 2009. It's the third number one DVD of the movie series. In May 2003, "Star Trek: Nemesis" opened at #1 with 900.000 units. The first Star Trek DVD chart topper was "Star Trek: Insurrection" which opened with...50.000 units in May 1999. Back then, the DVD market was very small. The first ever DVD Star Trek title to hit the VideoScan Top 20 chart was "Star Trek: First Contact" which peaked at #2 in October 1998. The new movie is the 15th "Star Trek" DVD title on the VS charts (including movies & series). BTW, that's even more than what Up sold the week before in its opening week. Alas, it still doesn't have a release date yet, so any prediction is kind of a shot in the dark. However, I'm pretty certain in at least $125 million OW.

Re: Star Trek 2 (Summer 2011) predictions
lol should open to close to 100 and likely finish with over 300 million.
ST is the next big franchise and if the quality sticks around it will be huge.

145/440
3D is really going to change what we perceive as big openings, and 400/500m totals aren't going to be anything special soon.

 Re: Star Trek 2 (JUNE 29TH 2012)
Star Trek is going to open up to 150 million minimum. Recent history has shown the kinds of increases sequels to well liked movies get on opening weekend. 150 million would only be a 1.9 increase in par with movies like New Moon, Shrek 2, The Dark Knight, etc etc. With the big increases in inflation movies are about to see in recent years from 3-D, there should be not doubt about a 150 million opening minimum.

 Re: Star Trek 2 (JUNE 29TH 2012)
So I now I see the massive over-predictions that 3D brought. I don't think this will reach $400m, it is way too nerdy for that

 Re: Star Trek 2 (JUNE 29TH 2012)
$350m is too high. I think IM2 type of run....somewhere close to $250m or maybe a slight increase for around $270m
