Post R U scared that you aren't going to get a good paying job???
I was talking to a girl yesterday who was so mad that she used to be a production assistant making 25 an hour. Then she went back to school for a degree. Now in her first summer off, she is looking for work, and with the extra people looking for work, most are only offering 10 an hour for jobs that used to pay 25.

BOY AM I GLAD THAT I HAVE THE WORK EXPERIENCE THAT I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THESE JOBS OR CUT MY ASKING PRICE!

HOW ABOUT YOU?

No jobs that used to offer $25 are now offering $10. A $10/hr. is typically a straight-out-of-college job, with a salary that gives employers a "probationary" period for the employer...or it's something that requires the skills of a minimum wage job, but doesn't give many benefits.

Those jobs would be cut completely if they required a 60% salary drop.

Well, compared to Grill, you're obviously not qualified for anything.

I was also talking to a waitress who was complaining abou how the tippers have gotten so much cheaper these days.

Guess there aren't alot of good paying jobs out these any more for people without experience and just want to pick up extra $.

Wrong bosses don't want to overpay for anything anymore - supply and demand!!!

Very simply: starting wages in 2008 are not 150% higher than starting wages in 2009.

It's more like...starting wages in 2008 are 20-30% higher than starting wages in 2009, bonuses in 2008 are a gazillion % higher than bonuses in 2009.

As I have friends who are looking, jobs that used to be over 100 K are now at 75K

and jobs that used to be at 75 K are now at 50 K

and with all the extra older people looking for jobs, there is no end to this in the near future!!!!

Supply and Demand Plus the experience factor of the older workers!!!!

I think the issue could be solved with more polls.

No, it's in your hands. You have to make a poll for every topic that could possibly exist in the entire world. Only then will we achieve world peace and financial stability.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Cut your asking price?? What are you growing bud and selling it or what?? In any event, I recently lost my job after 8 years working for the hotel I've been at since 2001 and I'll tell ya: Don't ever, EVER think that you have job security cause no one has job security in this day and age, except for maybe the health profession such as Nurses.. Fortunately, after shelling out $175.00 for a really good put together resume and nice clothes, I took about 6 weeks off of work, then pounded the street every morning to every Hotel around and now I'm employed again, but it wasn't easy either..

Congrats on working your butt off and getting the job.

Me, I have been doing Consulting for the last couple of years so that is what I meant by asking price.

and yes, even with experience, I know how tough the work environment is today

which is why I wanted to bring it out to these students, what they are up againist in today's newworld.

If you're a consultant, why are you constantly posting polls asking for the opinions of others? Furthermore, why is your grammar so horrid?

What is a "Grill"?

Why does anyone post a thread? To ask others about a topic and get a discussion going! I already know what my opinion is. And again, the polls are only to summarize the topic.

In my days of modding, I remember that Grill had a /***** IP address.

Though, again, I don't know how he could get hired as an engineer when his resume was prob. riddled with errors and lots, lots of ****** and ----------------.
